‘The Odyssey’ London Premiere: Menswear

While the women generated plenty of conversation at The Odyssey world premiere, the men delivered one of the strongest collective red carpets we’ve seen in some time.

Classic tailoring dominated the evening, but there was still room for personality.

Tom’s Best Look Of The Year?

Style-wise, it has been an impressive summer for Tom Holland, and this rich chocolate-brown custom Gieves & Hawkes suit is easily one of his best looks of the year.

The subtle pinstripe, and strong double-breasted silhouette gave the look a quiet confidence. This was British tailoring at its best.

Staying The Course

Staying with dunhill, Matt Damon wore a beautifully tailored light-grey three-piece suit.

Did a warm summer’s evening require three pieces? Probably not, but there is no denying how elegant and timeless this look was. It was giving leading-man energy, and that’s exactly what I wanted to see from him throughout this press tour.

I Guess

Robert Pattinson’s Dior suit left me really underwhelmed.

The suit itself is well cut, fits him perfectly and is impeccably tailored, but the overall effect felt flat and forgettable, especially in this line-up. Grey continues to do nothing for him.

Monochrome Masterclass

This is where I turn to Corey Hawkins, who proved that simplicity can be incredibly effective.

His all-black Issey Miyake look relied on proportion, texture and those deep pleats. The relaxed tailoring, open jacket and sharp sunglasses made this one of the coolest looks of the night.

Just Enough Sparkle

Himesh Patel went formal in classic black tailoring, but his AMIRI suit stood out thanks to the embellished lapels.

The detailing added just enough interest to elevate the look while remaining perfectly appropriate for the occasion.

Blooming Good Tailoring

Benny Safdie also opted for tailoring with a bit more personality in this Simone Rocha look, featuring the Irish designer’s signature floral crystal appliqués decorating the jacket.

The embellishment brought a softer, more decorative element to traditional tailoring. It won’t be for everyone, but it was one of the more memorable menswear moments of the night.

Signature Travis Style

Travis Scott stayed within his signature aesthetic in a black pinstripe suit paired with a black shirt, black tie and wraparound sunglasses.
