Lauren Sánchez Wore Archival Dior By John Galliano In Paris
Lauren Sánchez is currently in Paris, where she was spotted with her husband, Jeff Bezos, as the couple headed out for a romantic dinner at the Grand Palais.

For the occasion, Lauren wore a Christian Dior Spring 2001 dress by John Galliano. The design combined hand-crocheted detailing with chainmail-inspired panels, bringing together traditional craftsmanship and industrial materials in a way that became one of the designer’s signatures during this period.
The contrast between the crochet work and metallic elements is what makes the dress so interesting. More than two decades later, it still feels like a fascinating example of Galliano’s ability to merge historical references with modern construction.
Unfortunately, I’m not convinced this look works for Lauren.
The dress reads more like a luxury swimsuit cover-up than an archival Galliano fashion moment. That isn’t necessarily a reflection of the design itself, but rather of how it translates here.
I’m also bothered by the lining, which feels too short and looks as though it would inevitably ride up as she walks.
The styling doesn’t help matters either. Considering the metallic detailing woven throughout the dress, silver pumps would have felt like a more natural choice and helped tie the look together.
I appreciate the archival pull, but this is one of those occasions where the idea is more successful than the execution.
