Gillian Anderson & Hannah Einbinder Attend Cannes Film Festival Photocall For ‘Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma’
Gillian Anderson and Hannah Einbinder attended the Cannes Film Festival photocall for Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma today.

Curls & Crystals
Gillian Anderson wore a Miu Miu Spring 2022 column dress embroidered with floral appliqué and rhinestone detailing. Ordinarily, all of the attention would go to the intricacy of the dress, but I suspect most people will be too distracted by the hair. When I think of Gillian Anderson’s red carpet beauty signature, a sleek updo instantly comes to mind, so this voluminous halo of curls feels like a sharp departure from her usual style language. But this is Cannes, where people often experiment outside their comfort zone, and I appreciate how the festival encourages that kind of shift. The burgundy sandals continue today’s unexpected shoe-colour trend, while the Chaumet rose-gold Joséphine Aigrette jewels added to the romantic mood of the look.

Modern Minimalism
Hannah Einbinder wore a triangle 3D sculpting knit dress from the Alaïa Summer-Fall 2026 collection by Pieter Mulier. The sculpted silhouette instantly recalled the recent Alaïa looks worn by Charlize Theron and Zoe Saldana, but Hannah made it feel entirely her own. This sits firmly in that sleek modern minimalist space Alaïa has mastered under Mulier, where shape and texture do all the work without relying on embellishment, with the barely-there sandals helping to reinforce the clean architectural feel of the look. We’ve been somewhat, dare I say, underwhelmed by Hannah’s recent fashion run, especially following the Willy Chavarria look at the Actor Awards and the Valentino moment for the Hacks Season 5 premiere, but this lands with far more confidence and clarity. The next question is whether Louis Vuitton will enter the chat this evening. She often has some of her best red carpet moments when working with Nicolas Ghesquière.
