Rachel Sennott, co-creator and executive producer of Netflix’s Big Mistake, attended the New York premiere last week.

We all know the actress’ penchant for vintage looks, but I have a feeling this archival pull from the Georges Chakra Fall 2004 Couture collection won’t go down too well.

Personally, the unapologetic early-2000s energy of this look really speaks to Rachel’s style ethos. It leans into that era she consistently references – a little off-kilter, slightly chaotic, and never playing it safe.

She marches to the beat of her own drum, and that’s exactly why this works for me. There’s a sense that she’s dressing for her own amusement rather than anyone else’s approval. It’s less about being taken seriously and more about leaning fully into a look because it resonates with her – and that’s echoed in her choice to pull from Georges Chakra rather than the usual Galliano, Dior, Versace, Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, or Dolce & Gabbana archives.

It’s not trying to feel current, although the faux-fur trim does tap into what we’ve been seeing again recently on the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Zendaya – but here it reads more throwback than trend-driven, which feels far more authentic to her approach.
