FKA twigs Wore Ashi Studio Couture To The ‘Mother Mary’ New York Special Screening 

Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel were joined on the red carpet for the Mother Mary New York special screening by their co-star FKA twigs.

The one person who never needs a theme is FKA twigs, as her style is instinctive and entirely her own at all times.

That was very much evident in this Ashi Studio Spring 2026 Couture look, where a corseted peplum jacket in antique écru, inspired by 18th-century ornamentation, is worked with intricate floral appliqué, layered over a semi-sheer triangle bra and paired with a distressed organza and crinoline skirt finished with a handwritten motif, because it feels like something lived-in and personal rather than overly composed, which is exactly where she thrives.

There’s always a sense that she isn’t simply wearing the clothes, but reframing them through her own lens. The corseted structure immediately brought me back to Margot Robbie’s Wuthering Heights Sydney premiere look from the same collection – a look many felt veered too costumey – but where that outing leaned romantic, this reads far more unfiltered and is entirely aligned with her aesthetic.

As expected, she commits fully from the hair to the jewellery.

I do, however, find myself pausing at the footwear. The Marc Jacobs Kiki boots are clearly her favourites, but here they feel a touch heavy against the delicacy of the fabrics and detailing. Keep the boots by all means; my only issue is the colour.
