Michaela Coel Wore Givenchy by Sarah Burton To The ‘Mother Mary’ New York Special Screening
My plan was to work through all of Michaela Coel’s street-style looks from yesterday, but I’m jumping straight to the New York screening of Mother Mary, where she joined the red carpet alongside Anne Hathaway.

The British actress sits firmly on my “can do no wrong” list, but this Givenchy by Sarah Burton Fall 2026 look is to testing that, albeit only in part.
I’m fully on board with the draped pink satin duchesse, floral-embroidered cowl-neck top paired with the black balloon trousers. On their own, they strike a strong balance, with the top doing most of the visual work.
Where she’s losing me is with the matching embroidered bomber. Worn pushed down on the arms, it reads less like a jacket and more like detached sleeves or arm warmers, which disrupts the overall look.
This would have landed much better without the jacket. The core pieces are strong enough to carry the look on their own, and the extra layer only distracts rather than adds anything meaningful.
Do you agree?
Givenchy’s leather Sliced square mules and Shola Branson diamonds completed her look.
Stylist: Nell Kalonji.
