Sabrina Carpenter Wore Ralph Lauren Collection To Variety Hitmakers 2025
Sabrina Carpenter attended the Variety Hitmakers 2025 event in LA, where she was honoured as one of the year’s standout artists.
She wore a Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2003 strapless patchwork gown, a piece that immediately evokes the house’s romantic Americana era. The mix of brocade panels, muted golds and soft sage tones gives the dress that familiar prairie-meets-ballroom sensibility Ralph Lauren did so well in the early aughts. It also faintly recalls the patchwork revival we saw on the 2001–2004 runways — a little boho, a little heirloom, and very much leaning into nostalgic glamour.
The gown itself is charming, and I like the way her messier, undone waves lean into the rustic nature of the dress. It softens the formality and keeps the archival reference feeling fresh rather than museum-staged.
That said, the makeup isn’t quite landing for me. The heavy blush and overlined lip work beautifully on stage, but here they distract from the quiet romance of the gown. A softer palette would’ve let the dress take centre stage.
Even so, as an archival pull, it’s a sweet choice — and it’s interesting to see Sabrina continue to dip into fashion history during such a defining year for her music career.
