Ruth Wilson Wore JW Anderson To The 2025 British Independent Film Awards
Ruth Wilson attended the 2025 British Independent Film Awards on Sunday, and if there’s one thing we’ve come to expect from her, it’s unpredictability.

The Down Cemetery Road actress doesn’t dress for approval. Her wardrobe swings between conceptual experiments and sharp, menswear-leaning tailoring — a sartorial lucky dip where you truly never know what’s coming next.
Normally, I’m fully on board with her more unconventional impulses, but this take on menswear chic from the JW Anderson Resort 2026 collection doesn’t quite land for me. The silk white cropped blouse is a gorgeous start — crisp, clean, and beautifully cut — but the trousers take things in a far trickier direction. I’m not opposed to the slouch, the oversized shape, or even the exaggerated paper-bag waist; JW Anderson is built on ideas like these. But once the hem begins collecting floor time, the look becomes less intentional and more “please tailor me.”
That said, I can’t pretend this outfit doesn’t sit firmly in her wheelhouse. The styling is cohesive, the necklace adds personality, and the overall mood is undeniably Ruth. And honestly, considering how much rain London saw today, we should be grateful those hemlines weren’t dragging through puddles last night — the outcome would’ve been bleak (er).
She committed, she experimented, and she stayed true to her offbeat red carpet identity.
