Teyana Taylor Wore Four Thom Browne Looks For The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards
Teyana Taylor was the host of the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, where she turned the red carpet, and the stage, into her own Thom Browne runway, proving once again that her relationship with fashion is part power play, part performance art.
Each look told a different story: from haute tailoring and preppy rebellion to sculptural sportswear and anatomical couture.

The Opener
Teyana opened the night with a custom Thom Browne ensemble that looked like couture armour for the modern fashion soldier. The sculpted white jacket, oversized collar, and bejewelled chains felt equal parts Joan of Arc and Harlem couture — sharp, confident, and unapologetically extra. The tailoring was immaculate, the embellishments deliciously over-the-top, and the hat?

Pure theatre. It set the tone perfectly.

The Prep-School Remix
Her second Thom Browne look took us to the most exclusive prep school on earth — where the uniform is couture grade and detentions are served in stilettos. The striped tie, cropped blazer and matching pleated combo gave “school of fashion excellence.” The exaggerated proportions and those sock boots turned the designers signature into something deliciously tongue-in-cheek. Only Teyana could make academic chic feel this rebellious and cool.

Varsity Couture
Then came this green Thom Browne Spring 2026 look — part varsity jacket, part avant-garde sculpture, all attitude. It had the energy of a track-star-turned-style-icon, complete with dramatic shoulders, chunky knits, and sky-high lace-up boots. It’s the kind of outfit that makes you want to enroll at Browne University immediately, even if it means majoring in “Extra.” Playful, sporty, and cartoonish in the best possible way.

Anatomy Lesson
For her final look, Teyana traded the playfulness for haunting beauty in Thom Browne’s Fall 2024 Couture human anatomy gown. The corseted ivory silhouette, embroidered with anatomical motifs, was equal parts art piece and ghost story.

On the runway it felt clinical; on Teyana, it pulsed with life. She wore it like a woman dissecting the red carpet — literally and metaphorically. It was eerie, bold, and completely unforgettable.
I really enjoyed each of these looks with each serving as a reminder that fashion can be theatrical without losing its intellect. Few stars understand Browne’s world of irony and structure quite like Teyana does. Where others might get lost in the costume, Teyana finds the character. This was a tough feat, but she nailed every look for me.
