2025 LACMA Art+Film Gala Red Carpet: The Reruns
Here’s a roundup from Saturday night’s 2025 LACMA Art+Film Gala red carpet looks that gave us a serious sense of déjà vu: The Reruns. While some of these reappearances worked, others reminded us that some gowns deserve their one shining moment.

Halter Déjà Vu
Unlike Ariana DeBose, Ariana Greenblatt opted to wear her McQueen halter dress from the Fall 2025 collection without a coat, letting the silhouette breathe and shine. Styled with Chopard jewels, her take felt lighter, even if it didn’t quite eclipse Hunter Schafer’s magenta version, which still reigns as the best outing for this gown.

Lilac Revival
Ava DuVernay brought a touch of softness to the night in a lilac Rodarte Pre-Fall 2025 gown that some of you may recognise from Chloé Zhao’s blush-hued version, worn to the Hamnet London Film Festival premiere last month. Ava gave it her own spin with a tonal floral accent at the neckline and a matching Tyler Ellis clutch. The romantic colour and thoughtful styling made this outing feel anything but repetitive.

hooded déjà vu
Cristin Milioti, who’s been leaning into bold colour lately (that Lanvin gown still lives rent-free in my mind), went back to black in Saint Laurent. Her hooded Spring 2023 dress — styled with Saint Laurent Vera wedges — looked sleek but familiar, given how often this design has resurfaced since Zoë Kravitz first wore it to the brand’s Art Basel Miami party in 2022. Cristin wears it well enough to keep me from complaining about the repeat.

better in brown
While we haven’t seen Kerry Condon’s exact Fendi gown before — it was custom made especially for her — the design echoes one we saw on Emma Roberts last week. The difference? This one works. Crafted from brown duchesse satin with black lace and chevron detailing, it’s more cohesive and far more flattering. This proves that not all reruns are created equal — sometimes the second take is the one that gets it right.
