Ellie Bamber Wore Gucci To The ‘Moss & Freud’ London Film Festival Screening
The Moss & Freud premiere at the London Film Festival brought Ellie Bamber to the Curzon Mayfair, where she delivered a look that could only be described as a love letter to the woman she portrays — Kate Moss.

Ellie not only dipped into the archives, but I feel that she did so with purpose. Her Gucci by Tom Ford Spring 2001 flesh-tone strapless dress with a black mesh overlay instantly evoked Kate Moss’ 2005 CFDA Awards moment, when the supermodel wore a similarly structured corset gown by Dior Couture, designed by John Galliano.
It would have been incredible to see Ellie recreate that exact dress, but I appreciate that this felt more interpretive than literal — a nod rather than a copy.
This Gucci look is quintessentially early 2000s: sultry, minimal, and unapologetically sexy. The nude base and sheer overlay speak to that era’s fascination with barely-there sensuality that Kate Moss defined so effortlessly.
And while some may question her choice to pair a strapless dress with tights, as someone currently fighting off the flu, I can’t fault Ellie for prioritising a fraction of warmth and comfort on a cold London night.
A Strathberry Multrees Chain Wallet completed her look.
