2025 Toronto Film Festival Menswear
Here is a look at the menswear moments from the Toronto Film Festival this week.
The Smashing Machine Premiere

After two Prada looks in Venice, Dwayne Johnson spun the block with Dolce & Gabbana. Honestly, I’m glad he did. The Fall 2025 tuxedo gave him that polished, powerful energy, plus I love how the satin lapels are gleaming against his skin. The sash-accented fringes were a bold detail, but he carried them with ease. Yes, much has been made of his new physique, but the real story here was how sleek and assured he looked.

The Lost Bus Premiere

Matthew McConaughey surprised me in the best way with his bespoke Loewe olive suit. The double-breasted silhouette fit him beautifully and felt fresh after a string of more relaxed red carpet outings. This was sharp, refined, and easily his best in years.
Styled by Sandra Amador.

His son, Levi, also made waves in Dior, skipping tradition for a vest-and-trousers combo that showed confidence well beyond his years. Style clearly runs in the family.
Frankenstein Premiere

Jacob Elordi kept to his oversized Bottega Veneta tailoring, a silhouette he’s been committed to since Venice. This time it was custom again, styled with a red Intrecciato pochette and Manolo Blahnik Truro shoes. Clean, minimal, and very Jacob—even if the oversized fit is likely to still divides opinion.
Styled by Wendi Ferreira and Nicole DeJulio.

Oscar Isaac, meanwhile, continued to impress in a dark brown double-breasted Prada suit. He’s quietly becoming the unexpected style anchor of this cast.
Styled by Matthew Henson.
Eternity Premiere

Callum Turner stood out in Louis Vuitton—not for the double-breasted cut alone, but for the purple tone paired with a blue striped shirt and tie. In a sea of black suits, it was a confident, refreshing choice.
Styled by Ben Schofield.
Ballad of a Small Player Premiere

Colin Farrell’s Dolce & Gabbana Made to Measure pinstripe Sicilia-fit suit reminded everyone what tailoring mastery looks like. The jacket alone could teach a class in sharpness. But what made it work was how he relaxed it: a white tank top and velvet loafers gave ease to the formality. That balance of polish and nonchalance is what makes Colin so compelling on the red carpet.
The Testament of Ann Lee Premiere

Lewis Pullman kept his winning streak alive. Fresh off his Saint Laurent looks in Venice, he shifted to earthy tones in a Lardini suit. Considering he just earned your Best Dressed of the Week vote, it feels fitting that he leaned into browns again—clearly his sweet spot.
Styled by Warren Alfie Baker.
Nuremberg Premiere

Rami Malek welcomed velvet season early in Ralph Lauren. The slim-cut suit continues to be his go-to. A Cartier brooch completed his look.
Styled by Ilaria Urbinati.
No Other Choice Premiere

Byung-hun Lee joined the velvet brigade in Dolce & Gabbana, where satin lapels outlined the double-breasted jacket perfectly. Thankfully he didn’t opt for the matching trousers, which seem a little overwhelming. Both men showed why velvet will continue dominate in the coming weeks.
Styled by Hye Young.

Roofman Premiere

Channing Tatum in Saint Laurent grey wasn’t my favourite. The double-breasted suit overwhelmed him, particularly the trousers. Saint Laurent’s sharp cuts usually work, but here the fit just felt off.
Styled by Jason Bolden.
Hamnet Premiere

Paul Mescal shocked me in custom Casely Hayford. The British barathea fabric gave richness, but the overall vibe felt so familiar it could’ve been Gucci. The Cartier pin was a nice touch.
Styled by Felicity Kay.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Premiere

Jeremy Renner kept things classic in a Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia-fit three-piece tuxedo with exaggerated peak lapels. He added patent derby shoes for polish. Simple, effective, nothing to nitpick.
Styled by Janelle Miller.

Daryl McCormack in Hermès was similarly clean, but considerably more contemporary.
Styled by Ben Schofield.
Fence Premiere

Tom Blyth swapped his colourful streak for Saint Laurent midnight blue and brown. He does look good, but I admit I miss his bolder experiments.
The Wizard of the Kremlin Premiere

Paul Dano closed out the week in Prada. A black double-breasted suit with a black poplin shirt and lace-ups—it’s Prada minimalism done right, sleek and understated.
Styled by Ashley Weston.
