Intimissimi Misses the Mark at Venice Film Festival
Let’s be frank, because we always are here: Intimissimi had a rough night on the Venice Film Festival red carpet for the premiere of La Grazia, lead by Heidi Klum.
The concept was clear enough—take the lingerie label’s signature sensuality and give it a red carpet spin. The problem? None of it translated with the sophistication or polish this stage demands.

Barbara Palvin, for instance, is one of the most striking women in the world, yet somehow she was served up in an Intimissimi gown that did her absolutely no favours whatsoever. To make matters worse, someone decided embellished Betsey Johnson pumps were the finishing touch. Spoiler Alert: they weren’t.

Claire Holt almost gave us a glimmer of hope in a burgundy slip Intimissimi dress with lace inserts—a colour that was gorgeous on her. But again, the execution was so lacking it felt unfinished. I mean, how can the bodice be that unflattering from a label whose whole business is… never mind.

Leni Klum was the one saving grace, as it didn’t make me recoil in horror. Though to be fair, that dazzling Lorraine Schwartz diamond and emerald necklace may have been doing all the heavy lifting.
The takeaway here? Intimissimi should probably stick to what they know best: lingerie. Red carpet glamour is a completely different discipline, and this attempt only highlighted that wide gap. It’s baffling, because we’ve seen slip-inspired gowns done beautifully countless times. This, unfortunately, wasn’t one of those times.
