Laufey Wore Valentino To The 2025 Tony Awards

Icelandic–Chinese jazz-pop sensation Laufey attended the 2025 Tony Awards on Sunday in New York City as a guest presenter, bringing her signature retro-romantic flair to the red carpet.

We’ve long known that Alessandro Michele’s vintage-inspired, eccentric vision is tailor-made for Laufey’s aesthetic—aka Laufeycore—and this Valentino Pre-Fall 2025 look fits the mould perfectly. A checked blazer layered over a polka dot tie blouse, ruffled skirt, and white lace tights? It’s whimsical, nostalgic, and entirely in her wheelhouse.

But while it would’ve been an excellent choice for a FROW moment, an Elle Women in Music event, or even GMA or Live with Kelly & Marc TV appearance, I can’t help but feel this was a little underdressed for the Tonys. This is Broadway’s biggest night, the stage-world equivalent of the Oscars, Emmys, and Grammys—so I was hoping for something with a bit more grandeur.

Still, she looked charming, and yes, the Valentino Le Chat De La Maison minaudiere made yet another appearance. At this point, it’s practically her go-to red carpet accessory.
