Kirsten Dunst Celebrates ‘The Virgin Suicides’ 25th Anniversary In Rodarte
It’s hard to believe that The Virgin Suicides is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Yes, 25. If that doesn’t make you feel a little bit ancient, I don’t know what will. Kirsten Dunst marked the milestone in the most effortlessly perfect way possible.

She took to Instagram this week wearing a white Rodarte belted dress from the Spring 2025 collection adorned with yellow daisies, and if you’re familiar with the film, you’ll immediately recognise the reference. The look feels like a gentle homage to Lux Lisbon—ethereal, romantic, with an undercurrent of melancholy. The kind of dress that belongs on a front porch in the suburbs of 1970s Michigan, lit by the fading glow of a summer evening.
Rodarte has always been Kirsten’s comfort zone, and this latest look proves why. The puffed sleeves, lace trim on the collar and peplum, and belted waist bring a nostalgic femininity. It doesn’t feel costume-y or overly referential—it feels authentic to both Dunst and the film’s spirit.

The retro influence makes perfect sense too. This is a tribute to a film released a quarter of a century ago, so a modern dress with vintage flavour feels just right. And while some Rodarte looks can tip into theatrical, this one is all charm and subtlety.
It’s romantic without being saccharine, dreamy without floating too far from reality, and one of my favourite summery looks of the season so far.
