Renate Reinsve joined Elle Fanning for the Sentimental Value photocall at Cannes this afternoon, and just like that, we’re back in her comfort zone.

After dipping into soft romanticism for the late-night premiere, the Norwegian actress quickly reminded us why she’s one of Louis Vuitton’s most compelling muses. The black leather cropped top, long satin skirt, and black and white Jazz loafers made for a look that felt quintessentially Renate: unfussy, directional, and totally cool.

This is exactly the kind of ensemble that suits her down to the ground. It’s edgy, yes, but not try-hard—striking that perfect photocall balance between effort and ease. Nicolas Ghesquière clearly knows how to design for women who like their femininity with a bit of a bite, and Renate wears that brief like second skin.
