Celebrities at the Clarins ICONS Event
The Clarins ICONS event was a celebration of all things radiant, honouring the brand’s legacy in the beauty industry with a lineup of their most beloved and effective products. Held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, the soirée was attended by an array of glamorous guests. With a mix of sleek minimalism, and unexpected twists, let’s look at the night’s most noteworthy looks.

Bare Beauty
We don’t get to see Kate Bosworth on the red carpet nearly as much as we should—seriously, the world deserves a Kate Bosworth press tour—but when she does step out, she never disappoints. For the Clarins ICONS event, she chose a nude The New Arrivals by İlkyaz Özel dress, and honestly, it was a stroke of genius. The soft, barely-there hue subtly mirrored the event’s celebration of natural beauty and skincare, making her look feel both intentional and effortlessly aligned with the brand’s ethos. Whether it was planned or just a happy coincidence, it worked beautifully. Anita Ko jewels, a Rodo clutch and Alena Ettea Anais sandals completed her look.

Minimalist for Jodie, Major for Everyone Else
While I’d love to rave about how stunning Jodie Turner-Smith looks in this semi-sheer Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2025 bustier dress, presented with a minimalist approach to her styling—by Jodie’s standards—I can’t help but be distracted by her goddess braids. Goddess by hair, goddess by nature.

Royal Flashbacks, Anyone?
Alessandra Ambrosio’s black Roland Mouret halter neck dress with white trim immediately gave me déjà vu. Anyone else thinking about the Top Gun: Maverick Royal London premiere where Catherine, Princess of Wales, wore a similar Roland Mouret number? Granted, the necklines are totally different, but the overall elegance and contrast piping create a striking resemblance.

Trendsetter, Not Trend Follower
Ashley Madekwe is one of those celebrities who just gets fashion. She never follows trends—she creates them. Case in point: this abstract print two-piece Sandra Weil ensemble. While others might have opted for a safe monochrome moment, Ashley brought visual interest and personality to the red carpet in a way that felt effortless.

Seeing Red
In a sea of neutrals and classic black, Brooks Nader was the only one who got the red memo. She sizzled in a LaQuan Smith sheer chiffon blouse paired with a black high-slit skirt that had just the right amount of drama. It was a bold, confident look that broke up the night’s softer colour palette.

Love the Dress, The Shoes? Not So Much
Brianne Howey’s green Tory Burch knotted dress was effortlessly chic and a great colour on her, but I couldn’t get past the shoes. They just didn’t vibe with the sleekness of the dress. Sometimes the wrong footwear can throw off an entire look, and unfortunately, this was one of those moments.

Unpredictable Choice
Jamie Chung wore a bold Mother of All Nemasis leather corset look featuring a sheer skirt, which isn’t typically her red carpet style, but I love the daring choice and the unpredictability of it all.

Paris Hilton circa 1999
I adore Kathryn Newton’s style most of the time, but lately, she’s been taking a few nostalgic detours that don’t always land. This Georges Chakra Fall 2024 Couture mini dress, with its heavy embellishments and train, feels like an early ‘90s tribute. Specifically, it’s giving me “Paris Hilton at an MTV event in 1999” energy. If that’s what she was going for, then mission accomplished. If not, well… we move.

Who Is That Girl?
I had to do a double take when I saw Kelly Osbourne in this pink and black Rebecca Vallance Jocelyn striped midi dress because she looks completely different from how I remember her. The dress itself was a playful and structured choice, but honestly, the transformation in her overall look was what stood out the most.

Sultry Meets Unique
Shanina Shaik has a signature sultry aesthetic, and she stayed true to it in this black Christopher Esber Venus dress. It had that quintessential Christopher Esber mix of unique detailing and sensuality, making it a perfect choice for her.
