Front Row @ Ralph Lauren Fall 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Front Row @ Ralph Lauren Fall 2019

New York Fashion Week is full steam ahead, with the front row at the Ralph Lauren Fall 2019 show on Thursday (February 7) at the label’s Upper East Side shop — which had been transformed into Ralph’s Cafe for the occasion — filled with an eclectically outfitted mix of pretty starlets.

Zazie Beetz: Any damp chill in the air was properly whisked away with the ‘Deadpool 2’ star’s Ralph Lauren Collection sunny-yellow pantsuit topped with a contrasting turquoise-flecked turban for a uniquely personalized finish.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: This Ralph Lauren Collection Pre-Fall 2019 suede jumpsuit was so effortlessly modern, especially when paired with a sleek bun, collar necklace, and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Annabelle Wallis: Patchwork took on new meaning with this Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2018 ensemble. I love the array of textures and shades in the skirt that instantly went from folksy to fashion-forward by way of the nubby, oversized sweater — and Annabelle’s minimalist beauty.

WSJ Talents and Legends Dinner Honoring Lucas Hedges

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features WSJ Talents and Legends Dinner Honoring Lucas Hedges

Many turned up to show their support at the WSJ Talents and Legends Dinner which honored Lucas Hedges on Tuesday (January 28) in Beverly Hills, California. They were clad in head to toe Salvatore Ferragamo. Celebrities joined Julia Roberts.

Lucas Hedges: The man of the hour looked polished in a slim navy suit with brown shoes and a camel sweater. It would have been nice to see more colour around his face but this combination in of itself is still sharp.

Kathryn Newton: The ‘Blockers’ actress oozed sophistication in a belted cognac coat and mustard trousers. It has retro flare without looking dated.

Stephan James: The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actor continued to show his personal style by layering a sheeny navy coat on top of beige separates. The embroidered loafers kicked it up a notch. Yes, it’s summery, but the event was in California.

‘Ben Is Back’ Toronto International Film Festival Premiere

'Ben Is Back' Toronto International Film Festival Premiere

Julia Roberts and Kathryn Newton attended the ‘Ben Is Back’ premiere during 2018 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday (September 8) in Canada.

Julia Roberts: Following her epic Haute Couture jumpsuit from Friday, the actress was serving up more sartorial elegance in Dsquared2. I love the cut-outs revealing a seductive slither of skin, which places this look in the unpredictable category for Julia, despite this being in favoured black.

Kathryn Newton: Mirroring Julia in all black, the young actress wore a Dior Fall 2018 frock. As much as bright patterns and avant-garde silhouettes are more enticing than the classic LBD, there’s always a time and place for simple and elegant.

Front Row @ Christian Dior Fall 2018 Haute Couture

The Christian Dior Fall 2018 Haute Couture show took place today (July 2) during Paris Fashion Week, with an host of gorgeous girls in the front row.

Katie Holmes: There was something about the accessories which turned me off this look. They were almost too pedestrian for this charming frock.

Annabelle Wallis: This was easily one of my favourites from this event, as it showcased the more modern side of Dior. I adore the sculptural brilliance of her top.

Kate Bosworth: I pretty much didn’t recognise Kate in this Dior look, mostly because I didn’t want to believe Kate would wear something so aging and heavy. The only thing I would save here is the bag.

‘Little Women’ Tribeca Film Festival Premiere

Maya Hawke and Kathryn Newton attended the ‘Little Women’ premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (April 27) in New York City.

Maya Hawke: The model-actress looked bewitching in Miu Miu Spring 2018. We have been inundated with sheer skirts but the construction on this full skirted style presents a refreshing look as it reveals a hint of skin without looking naked. The alluring unlined detail is mimicked in the bodice. With the chokers and inky heels, there’s a vintage mood to the outfit without it feeling cliche.

Kathryn Newton: She also had a retro sentiment about her courtesy of her prim Dior dress. There is such charm and elegance about the ensemble — and the accessories only enhance it — but it still feels too casual in comparison to her costar’s ensemble.

‘A Wrinkle in Time’ London Premiere

The European premiere of ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ on Tuesday (March 13) in London saw a trio of other ladies on the red carpet in addition to the film’s stars, Reese Witherspoon, Storm Reid, and Mindy Kaling.

Ava DuVernay: The film’s director dressed the part in a Prada ankle-length gown with a mini train and articulated shoulders that was pure magic simply by virtue of its cornflower-blue colour. I love the delicate yet effective addition of the embellished belt with a brocade clutch, silver pumps, and a dynamite red lip to round out the look. This was such a lovely showing, from top to toe, for Ava.

Oprah Winfrey: Wearing a look that was elegantly within her wheelhouse, Oprah donned a lightly embellished blouse, obi-style belt, and floor-sweeping Brunello Cucinelli Spring 2018 skirt that was her version of stylized glamour, and the pure effortlessness of it all is what really translated so strongly.

Kathryn Newton: The young starlet wore a darling, ruffled Valentino dress. While the magenta boots perhaps introduced an element of quirky whimsy to the look, I found them to be too strong of a competitor with the frock. I would have preferred to see it stand alone on its own chic merits.
