Mariah Carey Wore Schiaparelli Haute Couture To The 2024 Recording Academy Honors

I love Mariah Carey, and I have handed out several passes to her for the mere fact that she is an icon, and because I adore her.

However, her Schiaparelli Fall 2023 Haute Couture look for the 2024 Recording Academy Honors event yesterday evening in Los Angeles really tested my resolve.

While I admire how confidently Mariah wore this asymmetrical dress accented with voluminous train and integrated underwire casing in draped crepeline revealing a nude tonal corset, I’m going to be a total boring prude and say that I wish this had one more layer.

Just enough the cover the point when the corset ends.

I will always support Mariah’s red carpet moments, but this wasn’t a diva look, this was unflattering and frankly, tacky.

I’m so disappointed for all concerned. This collection really wasn’t it for me. If I had any doubts, this confirms it.
