‘Asteroid City’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Here is a roundup from the ‘Asteroid City’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held in France on Tuesday evening.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Jasmine Tookes’ first look, but I was blown away by this custom red gown which was blooming with roses by Saudi designer Eman Alajlan.
This is that rare occasion where the reality outdoes the sketch.
I’m so glad she didn’t opt to wear any opera gloves with this look which was originally presented in the sketch, as the gown speaks for itself.
I don’t know about you, but I think this is easily one of the best looks from the entire festival.
I love this for Jasmine. Her elegance always shines through.
I have mixed feelings.
On the one hand I love Olivia Culpo in this Miss Sohee Spring 2023 Haute Couture velvet and taffeta gown.
But on the other hand, I am confused at how she gives us summer all year round, then serves up a gown with a Fall feel to a summer festival?
(*whispers* I wish this had been worn by Fan Bingbing)
Considering the yellow tiered Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture gown which Lori Harvey wore for her Cannes debut last year, this velvet devore Dundas Fall 2023 moss green draped dress was more on brand for the socialite.
Messika jewels completed her look.
Tina Kunakey’s high neck jacquard dress from the Alaïa Fall 2023 collection failed to excite on this red carpet.
Even though it has short sleeves, it appears really heavy.
Marina Ruy Barbosa’s Gucci gown would’ve been perfect had it been just in red and black. The top nude part kinda sucked all the drama out of this gown for me.
Maye Musk wore a Naeem Khan sequin gown accented with a bow.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson both wore custom Atelier Versace.
I could never resist a shawl collar tuxedo, so I’m particularly enamoured by the refined elegance of Tom’s look.
Rita has always been a woman who loves plenty of detail and embellishments, so the degradé bead and pearl chandelier embroidery came as no surprise.
I’m glad she added the cape which ensure this was oozing Cannes worthy glam.
Bulgari jewels completed her look.
Roz brought plenty of glamour to the premiere wearing a Geyanna Youness gown accented with tons of tulle, styled with Yessayan Jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes.
