2023 Costume Designers Guild Awards Red Carpet Roundup
Here is a roundup from the 2023 Costume Designers Guild Awards held at the Fairmont Century Plaza on Monday (February 27) in Los Angeles.
If I didn’t know better, I would’ve said that this Raisa Vanessa Fall 2022 maroon dress was made for Christina Ricci.
Between the colour, plunging neckline, side cut-outs, and golden dove motifs, this had the best aspects of being dark, sexy and fun.
After the SAG Awards, Austin Butler was back to black wearing a Valentino suit from the Spring Summer 2023 Unboxing collection.
You might feel that he didn’t get into the spirit of the event with his look, but at least he was there to support the costume designers who created his wardrobe to help him embody his character Elvis.
Bette Midler looked as beautiful as ever wearing an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 dress styled with a Roger Vivier clutch and jewels from Amrapali London and Norman Silverman.
You may remember that Rebecca Hall wore this same dress back in April 2014 for the ‘Transcendence’ LA premiere.
It’s not often we get such a bold colour from Elizabeth Debicki but that’s not where the drama ended as this Schiaparelli Spring 2023 red dress featured golden bursting eye and keyhole straps in crystal and cookie-dough plated gold.
The creases are unfortunate.
Hunter Schafer wore a Prada navy blue chiffon slip dress with inlays, worn over a white shantung top and skirt embellished with an insert of pleats and contrasting navy blue velvet piping inspired by the Spring 1994 collection.
On this occasion I prefer the runway version.
Monica Barbaro was another one of my favourites wearing a Maison Yeya Misty gown with striking sculptural details styled with jewelry by Norman Silverman.
