2022 BAFTA TV Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the men who attended the 2022 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards that was held at The Royal Festival Hall on Sunday (May 8) in London.

There are a few classic suits, but for the most part, the guys really turned things out when it comes to colour and style at this event.

Joe Locke, who stars in Netflix’s latest talked-about series, the LGBT teen love story ‘Heartstopper,’ opted for a hot pink – not the PP Pink – suit from AMI’s Fall 2022 collection. 

I love the sharp contrast of the black lapels, which helps him build on the rest of the look which included a sheer shirt accented with a Swarovski necklace and Louboutin shoes.

I think he styled it much better than the runway. Do you agree?

Joe Alwyn was looking James Bond smooth wearing an Etro double-breasted tailored suit.

We’re used to the Italian label presenting looks that are bold in colour or vibrant with paisley prints, so this black out look allowed us to focus on the tailoring which is impeccable.

Satin lapels will always make me swoon.

Omari Douglas wore an all-white look which hails from the Valentino Pre-Fall 2022 After Club collection which feels more like a Resort look.

I should be wishing that the opted for a different colour shoe, but I’m so overwhelmed the effortlessness and nonchalance of this look which he styled with Boucheron Jewellery.

Samuel Adewunmi rocked a black-on-black Givenchy Fall 2022 suit designed by Matthew M. Williams.

The U-lock detail on his jacket and other metal details kept me interested in this look, as they give his suit an edge, setting it apart from the more classic offering we saw from Joe.

This might be the only time I won’t complain about bleach eyebrows and platforms, because Olly Alexander totally sold both to me, along with his Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello look which featured a robe.

It’s all about confidence and attitude. 

Callum Scott Howells also wore a look from the Valentino Pre-Fall 22 After Club collection.

This might feel familiar in terms of the colourway, as Andrew Garfield wore Valentino to the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards which incorporated the purple and rich brown hue.

Callum gets extra points for the teal blue blazer which added a summery outer layer to his look.

I’m usually a big fan of Tom Daley’s style.  But he didn’t sell this Bethany Williams Skeleton suit to me.

There is something about the proportions which are way off for me.

Ncuti Gatwa, who was recently unveiled as the new Doctor Who, opted to bare his chest wearing an Orange Culture Nigeria ensemble which kills any “black is boring” on the red carpet statement.

I admire the creativity, the boldness, the randomness, and breeziness of the leather fringing which works so well when you add the beach sandals on the red carpet.

Looking at his Instagram, I need to keep an eye on the Scottish actor, because this stylish moment is not a one-off.
