2021 BAZAAR Stars’ Charity Night Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from some other ladies who joined Angelababy on the red carpet for the 2021 BAZAAR Stars’ Charity Night annual fundraising gala hosted by Harper’s Bazaar China in China.

Elaine Zhong 钟楚曦 was easily my favourite at this event.

Her vintage Georges Chakra Couture gown was oozing high glamour from a bygone era.

I wanted to say that the white tulle train wasn’t necessary, but on reflection it adds to the glamour, otherwise this would’ve been a black sequin dress we’ve seen countless times.

Victoria Song’s 宋茜 black dress is giving me vintage Mugler vibes, but it was actually designed by Lia Stublla who are known for their corseted, figure-hugging designs.

I love the sultry elegance but I think this look didn’t need the De Beers necklace.

French actress Zita Hanrot wore this Chanel Pre-Fall 2021 dress during Cannes Film Festival.

I didn’t love it on Zita, and I don’t love it on Xin Zhi Lei 辛芷蕾 either.

Everything from the waist down doesn’t work with this look.  And the placement of her hands, and what it’s doing to the skirt makes things worse.

Joey Yung 容祖兒 kept things super simple in Dior.

I think this look is missing a standout statement necklace.

It’s fair to say that there are a lot of expected gowns at this event, but Ada Choi 蔡少芬 stood out in her sequinned Loewe Fall 2021 dress for its modernity.

Jing Tian 景甜 wore a Rami Al Ali Fall 2021 Couture dress which looks like it belongs on in the wardrobe of an upcoming Disney film promo tour.

The overlay on the skirt doesn’t work for me, as it stops randomly, so I would prefer this with just the tulle skirt.

Yang Mi 杨幂 wore a very artistic Valentino Fall 2021 Haute Couture gown.

I don’t mean to shun her boyfriend, but I really wish she had walked the red carpet alone, so we could’ve seen more of this gown in all its glory.  It feels like it was shunted to one side.

I hope this gets a re-run.

Opting both to wear Monique Lhuillier.

Gillian Chung 鍾欣潼 was channeling her inner Cinderella, while Charlene Choi 蔡卓妍 looked ready for a summer garden party in her floral Bridal gown.

Bibi Zhou 周笔畅 and poofy dresses have never been a thing.

The entertainer usually opts for suits, but this Julien Fournié look has all the formal tailoring she usually gravitates towards.

I’m gravitating towards the embroidery.

The final Couture moment came from Yang Mi 杨幂 who was also one of the best dressed at this event wearing Ralph & Russo Spring 2020 Couture.

When it comes to “princess dresses,” this is a several levels above Jing Tian’s when it comes to style and modernity.
