Thuso Mbedu Wore Prada To The Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures Opening Gala

Thuso Mbedu is one of those actresses who had their first major promo tour during the pandemic (for The Underground Railroad), so we were limited to Instagram posts of what would’ve been her red carpet looks.

So I was ecstatic to see her taking center stage on the red carpet at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala on Saturday (September 25) in Los Angeles, California.

And what an introduction to the world stage she had with this custom Prada yellow Re-Nylon (the label’s eco-friendly fabric) strapless A-Line gown.

I adore how the white-and-green crystal and sequin embellished neckline ensured this had more about it than just colour and volume.

When Prada gets it right, they tend to knock it out of the ballpark.

This moment in the spotlight was well deserved, as she was easily one of the best on the night.
