2021 BAFTA TV Awards Red Carpet Roundup
There were many more lovely ladies who hit the red carpet for the 2021 BAFTA TV Awards, held at London’s Television Centre on Sunday (June 6).
Michaela Coel looked beautiful wearing a Maximilian cut out gown which I found myself loving more from the back than the front.
I think I should just be grateful that the ‘I May Destroy You’ actress wore the dress the right way around.
Alighieri jewels completed her look.
Paapa Essiedu was nominated in the Best Leading Actor category for ‘I May Destroy You.’
His Valentino Haute Couture look, which was especially designed for him by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, is yet another example of elevated red carpet menswear.
The BAFTAs is one red carpet where I would expect a black, or navy suit, but not only is this burnt orange hue sensational on the actor, but the styling which included a turtleneck (all hail Leslie Odom Jr.), Cartier jewels and Valentino Haute Couture shoes ensured a modern outlook.
If I was in the mood to nitpick, it was a little too hot for a turtleneck yesterday.
I wish there were more opportunities to see Sophie Okonedo’s red carpet style because she never disappoints.
Admittedly, had it not been for the green Bottega Veneta wrap-tie mesh pumps and choker, I probably wouldn’t have been so enamoured with the Bottega Veneta sculpted halterneck sleeveless dress, but her styling has always been part of what draws me to her looks.
Weruche Opia rounded out a trio of actors attended from the ‘I May Destroy You’ cast.
The Best Supporting Actress nominee wore a pretty Valentino dress from the Fall 2021 ACT Collection, which looks beautiful in this setting.
Aimee Lou Wood wore a very pretty a Miu Miu sablè gown embellished with a floral motif made with sequins and crystals which she paired with Miu Miu earrings.
British TV presenter AJ Odudu was on hosting duties last night, yet she didn’t fade into the background wearing this red feather dress from Vietnamese designer Tran Hung.
Styled with Jimmy Choo sandals and Bvlgari jewels. This was one of the standout looks on the night in terms of plenty of drama.
Vick Hope wore a black Versace slip dress with jewels courtesy of Bvlgari and Stellar 79.
Simple and elegant.
Plus she could pass as Zendaya’s older sister.
Cush Jumbo wore a Michael Kors Collection Fall 2021 black tulle gown with mirror embroidery which I feel like I have seen a thousand times.
The look was styled with Messika jewels.
I know that Josh O’Connor’s style will never land for some of you, but on this occasion he spotlight an up-and-coming designer; S.S. Daley.
Blue is a great colour for him, but I’m sure most will be focusing on how this feels like a cross between a school boy and sailors uniform from a bygone era.
Between Lydia West and Loewe puff sleeves are here to stay.
The look feels classic and modern at the same time with the elegance upheld by her Jessica McCormack jewels.
