Billie Piper Wore Five Look Promoting ‘Rare Beasts’

I’m not sure how far Billie Piper’s reach is, but if you’re from the UK and a child of the ‘90s, you will remember how her first single ‘Because We Want To,’ which shot to the Number 1 back in 1998, making her the youngest artist – then 15 – to enter the chart at that position.

She later moved onto acting, starring most famously in Doctor Who until 2006.

Cut to the present day, and almost I didn’t recognise Billie at first, as the looks from her promo tour for ‘Rare Beasts,’ - which is her directorial debut – sees a total transformation of her style.

The director – styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray who also works with Gemma Chan – presented five fresh new sophisticated looks.

The first look from Magda Butrym appears to be inspired by the strong silhouettes from the ’80s thanks to the oversized blazer and shape of the curved balloon leg, tapered trousers.

Styled with Jessie Thomas jewels and white satin pumps, I love how hairstyle is a playful nod to her first music video.

When it comes to revisiting classic codes with a unique perspective, few do it better than Lanvin.

Parisian nonchalance defines this two-piece look, from its puffed shoulders and gold-tone accents, to its effortlessly easy wearability.

Classic black Louboutin pumps completed this look.

This Paco Rabanne Spring 2021 dress is my favourite of this fivesome.

Mostly because this dress is the embodiment of the House’s futuristic aesthetic, and it’s also evocative of its famous chainmail designs.

As you know, I love anything that is associated with illumination, magic and reflection-like a disco ball.  So, this was a winner for me.

Jimmy Choo sandals, and sleeker hairstyle provided the finishing touches to this look.

You may remember that Veronica Ecjegui wore this same dress to the 2021 Goya Awards back in March.

On a high from the previous outing, the actress turned to Magda Butrym again, whose ruched dress from the Fall 2020 looks to be sitting a little too low for me.

I honestly would’ve preferred this is black, as this dress is giving me tin-foil vibes.

My favourite part of this look is her Jimmy Choo Thyra sandals and Messika jewels.

My first thought when I saw Billie in this Magda Butrym leather dress was how she looks so much like Cheryl Cole here.

After a series of sleek silhouettes this one was instantly more dramatic on account of the oversized floral ruffle.

Jimmy Choo Thaia sandals completed this look.

This was my runner up.

Which look is your favourite?
