Carey Mulligan Wore Valentino Haute Couture To The 2021 Oscars

Midriffs were trending on the red carpet at the 2021 Oscars this evening (April 25), and Carey Mulligan was the one to surprise me the most.

The British actress – who has been wearing a lot of Prada and neutral colours this season – shocked us all by wearing a Valentino Spring 2021 Haute Couture gold sequin two-piece.

I expected to see this dress at a music event, or on someone like Zendaya, but I have to applaud Carey for pushing herself waaaay outside her comfort-zone.

Did she pull off this look?

I’m sure some will say that she looks a little washed out, but she eventually won me over with this look.

I guess being on an actual red carpet for a change, she wanted to push the boat out a bit.
