Mindy Kaling WFH In Tie-Dye Altuzarra Off The Shoulder Dress

This week it was announced that Mindy Kaling has been cast as Velma in a new animated Scooby-Doo spin-off that will be available exclusively on the HBO Max streaming platform.

‘The Mindy Project’ actress follows Kate Micucci who voices Velma in several recent Scooby shows and Gina Rodriguez in the 2020 movie Scoob!.

Linda Cardellini played Velma in the 2002 and 2004 live-action movies, while Hayley Kiyoko played Velma in 2009’s Scooby-Doo!

Mindy is known for her offbeat humour, so I think she will be perfect for this role.

In a recent Instagram post, the actress sought to bring the 2020 summer tie-dye trend into 2021 wearing an Altuzarra Shibuya off-the-shoulder maxi dress from the Pre-Fall 2020 collection.

Unlike the tie-dyeing you may have tried at home, this artisanal-dyeing was created using Japan’s traditional shibori technique to create this pattern.

I love the mix of muted colours, Mindy tends to go for bolds, and brights.

Here the mood is mellow by her standards, yet the print is saturated enough to provide the perfect amount of daytime drama.

A deep burgundy lip was the perfect way to round off this super chic look.

The dress may appear too long, but I have a feeling she was barefoot in this picture.
