Dua Lipa’s Disco-Inspired Studio 2054 Costumes Extravaganza
Dua Lipa continues to do her bit to keep us entertained during this pandemic, with a special virtual concert this weekend called ‘Studio 2054.’
The best thing about this concert was not only performances featuring appearances from a plethora of celebs (Elton John, FKA twigs and Kylie Minogue), but also the ’80s-inspired set which felt like a wonderland of neon and glitter, sequins and mirrorballs, plus several epic costume changes.
The night kicked off with the singer dancing on a podium singing ‘Future Nostalgia’, while her dancers were grooving around her as she set the tone for the night.
Starting with my favourite look of the night, the British singer wore this custom Mugler Spring 2021 catsuit.
A few modifications have been made to the neckline, but it’s really the crystal embellishments which gives this piece the Cher-inspired feel. Something tells me that Cher could still rock this one-piece and look just as good as Dua.
Kristin Cavallari wore an Attico look last week, and my first reaction as this it didn’t feel like an Attico look.
Well this does.
It has all the Attico traits: embellishments, embellishments, embellishments, which all ensured that this mini dress made an immediate impact and was the perfect performance piece. I just love how the silhouette exudes hedonistic ’80s spirit, of which I feel the brand is known for. I can also see Kylie Minogue rocking this fringed number.
Alongside her colourful troop of dancers, this ’80s inspired dance-off saw the singer rock a dazzling embellished bodysuit, which was a custom made creation from New York-based designer Alexander Wang.
She rocked the look with a pair of Jimmy Choo’s Mica boots.
The night was not to pass without at least one Versace outing, which – due to the embellished starfish – feels like an extension of her 2020 American Music Awards red carpet look.
