Charlize Theron Wore Christian Dior To The 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards

‘Bombshell’ actress Charlize Theron picked up the International Star Award at the 31st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Thursday (January 2) in Palm Springs, California.

We can’t all be risk-takers like Cynthia Erivo.

Charlize has had risky moments in the past, this was not to be the day for the Dior-loving star.

I have been trying to figure out if this Dior Pre-Fall 2020 wool micro-check bustier and skirt is helped or hindered by the mesh top.

I have decided on helped, as without it, perhaps the look would’ve felt too stuffy or too formal for this event.

What do you think?

Dior sandals and jewels from Delfina Delettrez and Fernando Jorge completed her look.

I think this does nothing for Charlize. It is not flattering or even very nice. It is not fashion forward or interesting imo.

What’s with the look of her award? It’s like an elementary handcraft.

Her dress seems better with mesh than the look book version. It’s just unfinished. Neckline and the sleeves made the whole thing go down. Not to mention wrong makeup, and what’s with her shoes?

I think there’s no any look I find gorgeous on her with her new haircut. It’s confusing whether she try too hard or gives up. She had glorious days.

This feels kinda scatter brained, the mesh was actually an interesting addition but everything else failed it. And, that is one trophy I wouldn’t put on my mantle lol.

Great look! I love that she added the mesh, it makes it far more interesting than the lookbook.

    Love this!

I love this on Charlize and that is the ugliest award ever.

Right? It’s like a bong wrapped in pipe cleaners. What is that?!?

    • Originalmeme January 5, 2020 at 2:44 am #

Another ridiculous award. Can these people ever stop congratulating themselves?

It’s an okay look, I like the mesh but would’ve liked it more had it been a bit more finished since it’s a tad sloppy as it is. But overall, it doesn’t feel formal enough for a gala event.

Nothing I like here. What a badly dressed event.

The mesh top was needed, but either way, this look is dull and frumpy.

I actually love this. She always elevates Dior

The mesh top helped…it would of been ultra dull without it. Not that its exciting or anything but it adds at least something less business-y.
Like the shoes but her makeup looks a tad garish.

I must be a weirdo because I love this lol?
The issue for me is the styling mainly the dull sandals ( would have gone for red ones) and that hysterically HIDEOUS trophy ?

The mesh is very poorly executed. The suit the model is wearing is mildly interesting. The one Charlize is wearing is not. The shoes are horrible with it. Overall, Charlize is more misses than hits in the past 12 months.

I like this. I think the added interest from the mesh is cute!
It’s the makeup that’s really just not a fit.

  15. Guest January 3, 2020 at 4:03 pm #

Nah, this is too “lunch lady” for her. She is cooler than that.

  16. Dominos January 3, 2020 at 3:34 pm #

I don’t love the mesh but really its the unflattering makeup that is killing this look for me.

  17. Catarina_M January 3, 2020 at 3:20 pm #

There’s something about her makeup that turns me down…

  18. Guest January 3, 2020 at 3:14 pm #

I like idea of the mesh edge but I wish had been executed with more finesse. It looks like it was roughly cut off and attached to the top with no time to neatly make it complete.

I had never noticed the trophy of this award until just now. This must be the ugliest design among all the film festivals/awards. Yellow tubes, really? *LOL*

The outfit is dull and that mesh top (?) is ridiculous. I don’t think the makeup/styling is good either.

I’m sorry, but I simply don’t like Charlize’s style anymore.

  21. Guest January 3, 2020 at 2:59 pm #

I think the mesh is an interesting visual element, but could have been executed better.

    • Guest January 4, 2020 at 12:27 pm #

I agree, the mesh is interesting, it adds a fresh touch, but when I look at the sleeves…

I don’t like this and I don’t think it’s really appropriate for the event.
