Danai Gurira In Salvatore Ferragamo – Variety’s Creative Impact Awards And 10 Directors To Watch Brunch

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Danai Gurira In Salvatore Ferragamo - Variety's Creative Impact Awards And 10 Directors To Watch Brunch

Danai Gurira joined Emily Blunt and Olivia Wilde for the Variety’s Creative Impact Awards and 10 Directors to Watch Brunch during the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival today (January 4) in Palm Springs, California.

Printed and pleated dresses aren’t always so easy to pull off, but Danai has no problem making this Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2019 dress work.

From the brighter colours of her modified version, to the shorter length and flesh-tone Louboutins, this was a very welcome return to the red carpet for Danai.

Olivia Wilde In Erdem – Variety’s Creative Impact Awards And 10 Directors To Watch Brunch

The one thing Olivia Wilde was not leaving behind in 2018 was her love for ’70s inspired fashion.

The actress wore an emerald green suit, which you may be shocked to learn is from Erdem’s Resort 2019 collection, as the London-based designer isn’t really known for his suits, or anything that isn’t decked out in flowers.

But won’t be surprised that Olivia selected this look though.

The actress has had a thing for flares since her guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel back in September.

On this occasion the styling was kept super simple with multiple necklaces and rings by Foundrae.

In the look book, you’d worry that this boxy silhouette won’t translate too well on the red carpet, but Olivia doesn’t look overwhelmed at all. Quite at ease in fact.

Regina King In Cushnie- ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ Palm Springs International Film Festival Screening

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Regina King In Cushnie- 'If Beale Street Could Talk' Palm Springs International Film Festival Screening

Notching up her second red carpet look of 2019, following her win the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala on Thursday (January 3) in California, Regina King was back on the red carpet for the screening of ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’.

Looking exquisite in bright yellow Cushnie Spring 2019, this floor sweeping gown such a simple, yet standout piece.

I love how the halter neckline and low cut back provide and elegant touch of sexiness, while the rose-pink velvet sandals provide an unexpected twist.

2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala Menswear Roundup

Emily Blunt, Regina King and Emma Stone were joined on the red carpet for the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala on Thursday (January 3) in California, by several guys in dapper suits.

Mahershala Ali: The Golden Globe nominated ‘Green Book’ actor tends to do black-on-black a lot. But you won’t hear me complaining when he looks this good. The ombre shoes ensure the look wasn’t too one note.

Timothee Chalamet: Your best dressed man of 2018 wore a Thom Browne suit. The designer is known to push the boundaries of classic men’s fashion with every new collection.  This particular suit skillfully demonstrates Thom Browne’s meticulous craftsmanship. With the crop of the trousers, Timothee was wise to opt for Berluti’s ‘Eris Bergen’ tall leather boots.

Rami Malek: Winner of the Breakthrough Performance Award for the Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, the actor – who was once the face of Dior Men – opted for Givenchy. I love how the crisp stripes in contrasting tones, adds a contemporary touch to this slim fit suit. Bow ties usually give a look a formal touch, but it feels quite playful here.

2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala

There were many more gorgeous ladies who joined Emily Blunt, Laura Harrier, Regina King and Emma Stone on the red carpet for the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala on Thursday (January 3) in California.

Glenn Close: The actress opted to keep things simple and elegant in her INGIE Paris black wrap jumpsuit styled with Cartier jewels, Christian Louboutin’s ‘Yasling’ slingbacks and ‘Palmette’ clutch.

Yalitza Aparicio: Ezra Miller deservedly picked up the best newcomer of 2018, but my runner up was Yalitza, because like me she loves colour, and usually prints, but on this occasion she kept things simple,  yet bold in this red custom Adeam tuxedo dress. I love how the chiffon skirt provides an interesting, more feminine balance to the structure of everything up top.

Linda Cardellini: The actress was definitely projecting a summery mood in her Monique Lhuillier Spring 2019 butterfly guipure lace strapless bell skirt dress. Dainty, but not twee, the look was styled with APM Monaco jewels and a Tyler Ellis Lee pouchet.

Laura Dern In Azzaro Haute Couture – 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Laura Dern In Azzaro Haute Couture - 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala

Laura Dern was on hand to present the Spotlight Award at the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala on Thursday (January 3) in California.

I always feel like there’s a concerted effort to make Laura Dern appear cool.

That was very much the case with her Thom Browne look – which was a miss – and I’m feeling the same vibe from her Azzaro Fall 2018 Haute Couture look.

I believe the look was cooler and more effortless with the blouse. Strange as this might sound, but the revealing bra made this feel a bit dated for me.

Christian Louboutin ‘Nosy Strass’ t-bar pumps completed the look.
