The 2019 Met Gala marks Gemma Chan’s first, and she did not enter this fashion arena quietly on Monday (May 6) in New York City.
Her Tom Ford crystal-embroidered gown and cape is not so much campy as it is straight-up sophisticated glamour.
But her custom-made headdress, inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s masked ball ensemble in Venice 1967, proved to be a towering, extravagant way to cap off the look; the piece will no doubt join the ranks of similar memorable headdresses that we’ve seen at previous Met Galas.
Long Cher-inspired locks finished her glittering silver entrance.
