Elizabeth McGovern In Lush Velvet At ‘The Chaperone’ New York Premiere

Elizabeth McGovern In Christopher Kane - 'The Chaperone' New York Premiere

Elizabeth McGovern was back on the red carpet to promote her latest film, ‘The Chaperone’ in New York City on Monday (March 25).

We haven’t seen much of the actress since she played Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham in ‘Downton Abbey’, so I was delighted to see her back on the red carpet for this premiere.

I’m sure you instantly recognize this red velvet Christopher Kane dress, as we were all swooning over it when Maya Jama wore it to the ‘Remarkable Women’ Awards earlier this month.

I will always been drawn to a dress like this.

The colour, the lush velvet fabric, the sensual off-the-shoulder and the midi length – which I personally find very sexy (while other may feel it’s demure) – all combine to present contemporary sophistication.

Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection diamond cut earrings and rings from the L’Heure Du Diamant Collection completed her look.

This is a BDOTW look. The dress is lovely, fits her perfectly and the styling is right on. Nothing at all to improve.

What a fabulous look! I don’r mind the ankle strap at all…

    Love this!

Me too! I like her shoe choice better than Maya Jama’s, ankle straps (at least they’re thin) and all.

Lush. I love lush. She looks great in this. The color is gorgeous.

I love this dress on Maya Jama and I love it on Elizabeth McGovern too.
It’s a really flattering and gorgeous dress.
As other people said, it would have been better without the ankle straps, but it’s minor.

Nice but I want to remove the ankle straps.

Elizabeth looks great here. I wish the shoes did not have ankle straps but that is minor.
As to the Read More link, I do not mind it. The trimmed down introductions allow more headlines on the page and once I click on comments, I read through by going to the next or previous post and that loads up with the full text.

Is there a reason why you started skipping the designer in the title and make us click the “Read more” links (marketing strategy, increase the view number of views per post)?

I’ve noticed you added the “read more” links a while back and kind of bared with it, but this is kind of unpleasant and it actually doesn’t make me want to click on the links.

    just a feedback…

Right? The read more links were already pretty annoying but this new development is awful. Sorry, Catherine, I adore your website and I think it was unique and amazing and now some of that is gone. It’s not visitor friendly at all.
