Rachel Weisz In Givenchy Haute Couture – 2019 SAG Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Rachel Weisz In Givenchy Haute Couture - 2019 SAG Awards

Rachel Weisz shimmered at the 2019 SAG Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on Sunday evening (January 27) in Los Angeles, California.

Many won’t be surprised to hear that her inky gown is Givenchy Fall 2018 Haute Couture.

It could hardly be called basic black with the tinsel-like panel and silver belt. The contrasting elements completely change the somber mood of the piece, making it a textured delight.

What do you think of the belt?

I think she looks good. I think this adventurous and edgy for her standards and better than stuff she’s worn recently though the dress could have been worn by the likes of Eva Green for the darker vibe of the look.

This was my favorite dress of the collection, but I think Rachel sucks the life out of it.

Clearly made for walking. But as far as her style history goes this is one of her better ones I shall say.

She sucks the life out of it. I have said it once and I’ll say it again, she needs a new stylist. Hers doesn’t know what’s right to elevate her beauty.

Hurrah! This is her best look in a while. She’s a stunning woman when she gets it right.

“Hardly be called classic” what? This is totally classic. Contrasting skirt and metal belt doesn’t make it interesting or unique.

I wish the sleeve was to her wrist.

Its okay. Not very inspiring but its classy and nice enough.

She looks great, the metallic detailing and the belt makes this interesting.

Her pose isn’t ideal for this gown. But I like it. Nothing overly exciting, but she looks good.

Not sure she is the right wearer for it, she almost seems a bit too vanilla for it, but I love the gown and how the dramatic feathers offset the modern sleekness of the rest of the gown.

I like the dress but I don’t think I like it on Rachel

While I’m not usually a fan of one-sleeve gowns, I do like this. The sleeve actually fits her better than it does the model. Love the contrast of the sleek, black velvet bodice with the modern look of the silver belt and the tinsel like texture of the skirt.

..I think it needed someone a bit more statuesque and with a more assertive presence to render the modern sleekness of the gown.
