2018 American Music Awards
Here are the rest of the attendees who joined Jennifer Lopez and Ciara on the red carpet for the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 9).
Ella Mai: While I love the mint hue of her Sergio Hudson suit, I’m struggling to believe this was custom made. There’s oversized, then there’s this. And this, ain’t great. From the fit to the tailoring.
Mariah Carey: The diva wore a black body con beaded mesh and fishnet Yousef Aljasmi gown featuring a sweet heart illusion neckline and feather hem. I know what you’re thinking. Typical Mimi. The dress is super dated, and she looks the same as always, and I would agree, but at the same time I absolutely living for this classic, unapologetic moment.
Leighton Meester: I really like this elegant, sophisticated Sonia Rykiel look in theory, but I would’ve loved it more without the v-panel. Messika jewelry completed her look.
Carrie Underwood: I’m not at all surprised that Carrie’s maternity style is as glamorous as ever in Steven Khalil. L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond jewels completed her look.
Amandla Stenberg: This was one of my favourite looks of the night for being truly original. The Ralph Lauren blazer and bow tie gives so much polish and prestige to the XKarla x Levi’s jeans. Some might feel there are two strong looks competing here, but she carries the look off with great aplomb. Brian Atwood ‘Vida’ patent boots completed her look.
Kathryn Hahn: Balmain can feel repetitive at at times, but Kathryn’s checked mini breathed fresh life on what we are used to seeing from the fashion house. Casadei red pumps in satin plissé completed her look.
Ashlee Simpson: The reality star is always in a sequined, disco diva state of mind, so this Monique Lhuillier Fall 2018 dress was quite apt. Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and Effy jewels completed her look.
Cobie Smulders: Frivolous, youthful femininity is apparent in this Vivetta Fall 2018 dress, yet the look, which Cobie styled with on-trend Rupert Sanderson velvet sandals and a Roger Vivier clutch, didn’t feel too girlish.
Camila Cabello: You tend not to take to favourably to Camila’s red carpet looks, so it’s a good thing she kept things simple in Armani Privé.
Normani Kordei: Perhaps a year ago, Normani would’ve worn something OTT and attention seeking, on this occasion she looked very elegant in Carolina Herrera Fall 2018 gorgeous gown.
Marsai Martin: The ‘Black-ish’ star divides opinion as some believe she dresses too mature for her age. On this occasion she wore a playful dress from Pamella Roland’s Spring 2019 collection which I’m sure you will judge favourably. APM Monaco jewels completed her look.
Lauren Jauregui: I love the drama of Lauren’s Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2018 gown, and I’m glad she didn’t feel the need to over accessorize.
Bebe Rexha: The sequined Fall 2018 Balmain dress is everything you expect from the brand, but the hair is shockingly aging. Dannijo earrings completed the look.
Constance Wu: I’m totally obsessed with the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actress in this No. 21 Fall 2018 dress mostly for the bold use of colour and sequins. Stuart Weitzman ‘NudistSong’ sandals completed her look along with Brumani quartz hoop earrings.
Liza Koshy: With so many gowns on this red carpet, I’m sure you’ll find this Prabal Gurung autumnal floral look instantly refreshing.
