Constance Wu In Rodarte – 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Constance Wu In Rodarte - 2019 Critics' Choice Awards

Constance Wu attended the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (January 13) in Santa Monica, California.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of her Golden Globes gown, but I adore this Rodarte Spring 2019 pink beaded and sequin dress.

Serving up a modern fairytale, I was totally swept away by the modern elegance of it all.

A pink Roger Vivier ‘Enveloppe Flap’ clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her gorgeous look.

2019 National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala Red Carpet Roundup

There were a myriad of looks at the 2019 National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 8) in New York City. Celebrities joined Olivia Wilde.

Regina King: Breaking from her recent pink outfits, the ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actress wore a speckled Zac Posen gown which had a pattern that mimicked falling snow. The frilled bodice plays off the diagonal seaming.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: ‘The Kindergarten Teacher’ actress kept things understated in a neutral A.W.A.K.E. Spring 2019 dress. The earrings help enliven it but I would have chosen a different shoe.

Sophia Bush: Oozing Old Hollywood glamour, the actress was outfitted in a Zac Posen dress. This material is notorious for creasing and puckering so I commend the chic, liquid finish.

HBO’s Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features HBO's Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

There were more stars in attendance at the many post-globes parties, than the main event it seems. Here is a look at those who attended HBO’s party on Sunday (January 6).

Angela Sarafyan: The’ Westword’ star was the one person we were all excited to see on the red carpet in 2018. Angela got her 2019 campaign underway wearing a pretty pink Cushnie Resort 2019 gown styled with matching pink earrings, proving last year was no fluke.

Tiffany Haddish: The actress wore a custom Michael Kors Collection that methinks deserved to be on the red carpet at the main event.

Constance Wu In Vera Wang – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion blogger Catherine Kallon features Constance Wu In Vera Wang - 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Constance Wu had her princess moment at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday evening (January 6).

The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actress wore a custom Vera Wang dress which presented a more refined take on whimsical style with the neutral fabrics and burnt orange ribbon belt.

Some will likely do a double take with the second-skin top but the trick works in the outfit’s favor because it balances the frothiness of the skirt.

If I were to nitpick, I’d like to see the waistline of the skirt lowered a touch.

2018 Governors Awards

2018 Governors Awards

The 2018 Governors Awards on Sunday (November 18) in Hollywood, California were a star-studded affair. Lovely ladies joined Rosamund Pike and Lupita Nyong’o.

Emily Blunt: The ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ actress glimmered in a custom Dundas top and skirt with Jimmy Choo shoes and David Yurman jewels. Despite the plethora of crop tops we have seen, this sharp-shouldered style held my attention thanks to the luxurious mix of metallics.

Gemma Chan: The flowing shape of the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star’s Stella McCartney ensemble was accented with the pleated shoulder detail. The finishing touches and wrinkles bring it down slightly.

Amy Adams: She lightened up in a whimsical Schiaparelli gown. The refined silhouette balances the girlish pink tones and heart detail. A crushed velvet Tyler Ellis clutch brought in more feminine charm.

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

The busy weekend of events saw more celebs join Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in LA.

Shailene Woodley: In recent times when I see Shailene, I feel like I should know her style by now, but it’s like she’s in the development–experimental stage at present. For example, back in 2014 when she was promoting ‘Divergent’ I don’t think she would’ve worn this Ralph & Russo jacket and shorts combo. While the look does feel fresh and new, I found the sleeves overwhelming here. Yvan Tufenkjian earrings and Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed her look.

Janelle Monae: I always feel like there is a theme going on with Janelle, and on this occasion I love the ’60s mod theme imbued within her tri-colour The 2nd Skin Co. dress complete with white go-go boots.

Sophia Bush: I adore the luxe texture of her animal print A.L.C. suit, but the pink ADEAM bag was an eyesore with this look. Sophia’s accessories are usually on point, so I’m really disappointed on this occasion.

IndieWire Honors 2018

Charlize Theron was joined by three gorgeous ladies at the IndieWire Honors 2018 on Thursday (November 1) in Los Angeles, California.

Amandla Stenberg: My eyes fell straight to Amandla’s Le Silla ‘Gilda’ crystal ankle boots, as I struggled to get on board with her zip accented Stella McCartney Spring 2019 skater dress.

Natalie Portman: It was a case of something new, for Natalie Portman as Karla Welch styled the usually Dior-clad actress in the second look from Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent Celine Spring 2019 collection. Tailoring has always been Slimane’s forte, but this look could’ve easily hailed from any of his last 5 or so collections. I like the look in theory, but the suit feels a little too big for Natalie. Repossi jewels and a Tyler Ellis clutch completed her look.

Constance Wu: We all know Constance loves pretty frocks, so I was surprised to see her opt for something with a sultry edge courtesy of Christopher Kane’s Resort 2019 collection. The sheer skirt keeps leather dress firmly in her ultra pretty realm. I’m curious if this is the start of a new style direction from Constance.
