Comic-Con 2015 Red Carpet Roundup

Comic con roundup
The star-studded Comic-Con 2015 weekend brought out a host of other bold names for the range of parties and panel discussions in San Diego, California.

Natalie Dormer: Attending the Screen Gems panel, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress wore a Mary Katrantzou lamur guipure lace and jacquard midi dress with blue-green embroidered accents. I like how her ponytail adds a fresh, breezy note to this darker look, but I have no words for the shoes that should have been a simple black or blue sandal if nothing else. You may remember that Shailene Woodley wore the same dress a few months ago.

Sarah Paulson: Fusing femininity with structure, this Suno cutout flared black dress was a successful look for Sarah at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con 2015 party. I was equally delighted to see her step outside the plain-black box with accessories including a silver Edie Parker clutch and silver Aldo shoes.

Kate Mara: Also joining the dark colour parade, Kate wore an embellished Valentino Fall 2015 design at the 20th Century Fox panel discussion. She let the mini dress shine all on its own with only minimal styling including a simple pair of black sandals and a few beaded bracelets, which I would argue were unnecessary too.

Jenna Ushkowitz: At the Entertainment Weekly party, she kept her look girly and fun in a Cynthia Rowley embellished baby-doll frock styled with the unexpected punch of LK Bennett colour-blocked black-and-white pumps for a fresh, forward finish.

Jennifer Morrison: The actress attended the ‘Once Upon a Time’ panel in a Lela Rose Spring 2015 black-and-white dress with abstracted floral embroidery, which she styled with the pop of red accessories including Bionda Castana bow-topped pumps, a matching clutch, and crimson lip. I love the pure enchantment of this look that combined modern, graphic appeal with feminine allure.

Maisie Williams: This Alexander Lewis Resort 2016 dress featuring an embellished and embroidered lacy mesh overlay was a lovely look for the ‘Game of Thrones’ starlet at the Entertainment Weekly party. She maintained an aura of chic youthfulness with barely-there makeup and a loosely fixed bun.

Comic con roundup 3

Bella Thorne: Giving her legs top billing in the ‘Scream’ press room, Bella wore a Vera Wang floral-printed romper with whimsical feather sandals. With tinges of romantic beauty, the look had potential, but it was sadly compromised by an ill-fitting silhouette and the too-short shorts that brought down the appeal by a few notches.

January Jones
: Like Sarah, January opted for an LBD for the 20th Century Fox Party. While the asymmetrical CG Spring 2014 dress with a back cutout may have come across as overwrought on some, she worked it with effortless allure. Loose waves and a red lip adding the final feminine touch.

Jaimie Alexander
: The actress balanced the golden glitz of her Elisabetta Franchi skirt with the mannish grace of the cream-hued Rebecca Minkoff jacket for a chic and sexy entrance at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con 2015 party.
