Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 Front Row
The front row of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 show certainly faced no shortage of the usual LV-outfitted stars who all made Nicolas Ghesquière’s runway a must-attend during Paris Fashion Week in Paris, France.
Jennifer Connelly: Continuing to show off a new, softer side with her Louis Vuitton looks, the actress wore a feminine, printed velvet frock with a relaxed silhouette, cinched in for shaping by a skinny, brown leather belt. Gilded, gold-embellished shoes injected some of that more familiar edge to this ensemble, and I loved the pop of her berry lip for added oomph.
Fan Bingbing: Going for tough-luxe appeal, the Asian star teamed a gold-lined, black leather moto jacket with a sheer, white sweater and front-slit skirt. A range of accessories completed the look with a bit of ’80s-inspired excess, including statement earrings, round sunnies, rows of rings and a hand bracelet, a signature LV monogram shoulder bag, and platform cutout sandals—with blue nail polish, no less. She nailed an urban, street-style sensibility here.
Selena Gomez: Playing with patterns, Selena took a sophisticated turn in this mixed print, prairie dress with a black accent belt. She completed the prim frock with a pair of black booties and a couldn’t-miss-it yellow handbag, which I actually loved as the youthful exclamation point to this pretty look.
Dianna Agron: I love the way Dianna took her minimalist black belted dress to the next level with the rich, berry-hued tweed overcoat, bright magenta shoulder bag, and patent eggplant booties. The seemingly dissonant shades all collide together boldly and impactfully.
Michelle Williams: Sweeping her platinum locks into a low updo, the actress selected a short, denim-look dress with exploded seams and zipper detailing. All she needed were some Twiggy eyelashes for this retro-mod look, where black ankle-boots capped off the effect with a dose of edgier spirit.
Chloe Grace Moretz: Also in a print-centric ensemble, the trendsetting starlet paired her retro-patterned trousers and textural, semi-sheer top with a cropped, black leather jacket to put some of that tough-girl-love into the chic look, which was beautifully completed with barely-there makeup and soft waves. I would have exchanged the shoes for a sandal, but that would be nitpicking.
Brit Marling: Some dresses just aren’t made to have a ribbed, brown turtleneck sweater worn beneath them. The sleeves may have been necessary because of the chill in the air, but I would have then just opted for another dress. The wild, striped booties also left me puzzled.
Kanye West: Injecting his baggy white tee and slouched denim with a shot of a rich, cabernet hue, the rapper put on a sweater jacket, which thankfully dressed up his low-key look a bit.
Kim Kardashian: Opting for a Givenchy Fall 2015 look, which had its runway debut just days earlier, the newly platinum Kim wore one of the moody, black moments from the collection. The dark, Victorian-esque silhouette featured gathered ruffles and ruched detailing, to which she added door-knocker earrings and cage sandals. Yay or nay on this dramatic K.K. look?
