TV Presenters @ The 2014 Emmy Awards

Louise Roe in Monique Lhuillier - 2014 Emmy Awards

Here are the final three looks from the Emmys red carpet on Monday evening (August 25), from those ladies who asked that all-important question: “Who are you wearing?”

Louise Roe: The British TV star and journalist was my favourite of the bunch. With her statuesque model height and beauty, she was radiant wearing a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2014 floral-brushstroke-printed strapless tufted ball gown. Impeccably styled, as we would expect from Louise, she accessorized with Monique Lhuillier ‘Avril’ coral slingbacks, an Edie Parker ‘Minnie’ nude pearl and gold confetti clutch and Martin Katz jewels.

2014 Emmy Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

2014 Emmy Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

While the constellation of actresses on the scene at the 2014 Emmy Awards had all of us focused on the range of red-carpet gowns and glam, there was plenty more eye candy to be had with the men in the mix at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Monday night (August 25).

Matthew McConaughey: Not one to ever be a shrinking violet, the ‘True Detective’ actor and nominee suited up in a bold blue Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit with contrasting black lapels, paired with Christian Louboutin ‘New Orleans’ flats, and a Bulgari watch and cufflinks. Was it my favourite look of his? Perhaps not. It even drew ‘A Night at the Roxbury’ comparisons among the Twitter-verse. But, with that handsome gaze, he can pull off anything.

Aaron Paul: The ‘Breaking Bad’ Emmy winner couldn’t have accepted his trophy in more classic fashion. He wore top-to-toe Prada in a black kid-mohair tuxedo, with a two-button notch-lapel design and velvet trim on the collar. A white smoking silk shirt, black bowtie and black spazzolato lace-up shoes, plus a Bulgari timepiece, completed the look.

Ty Burrell: Channeling his own blue mood, the ‘Modern Family’ Emmy winner wore a custom Todd Snyder tuxedo that was made especially for his big night. The Italian wool design was a collaborative effort between Ty, his stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, and the designer and boasts a unique shade of blue called ‘dusk,’ which nicely updates the tux from the more standard colourways of black and navy.

Robin Wright In Ralph Lauren – 2014 Emmy Awards

Robin Wright In Ralph Lauren - 2014 Emmy Awards

Robin Wright attended the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles, California.

For me, the ‘House of Cards’ actress was one of the best dressed at the event despite not opting for an expected gown.

Looking very chic in a backless custom made Ralph Lauren Collection cream tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit, she decided to let her bold outfit do the talking by keeping her accessories to a minimum and slicking back her hair.

‘Orange is the New Black’ @ The 2014 Emmy Awards

'Orange is the New Black' @ The 2014 Emmy Awards

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ cast seemed to dominate the red carpet at the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday evening (August 25). We’ve seen Laura Prepon, Taylor Schilling and Laverne Cox; now here’s a look at how the others look so very good when not wearing their prison garb.

Uzo Aduba: The most jaw-dropping of them all was Uzo, who stunned wearing a breathtaking Christian Siriano custom lipstick-red silk gown with cascading organza back flounces which place goosebumps on my goosebumps. Letting the gown do all the work, she styled the look with Fred Leighton gold jewels, sweeping her hair up into a neat bun. I would only remove the cuff, but otherwise: perfection.

Alysia Reiner: The actress wore an Alexander McQueen pretty pink gown with draped hips and a decadent arrangement of pearly beads and rhinestones on the front. A Jimmy Choo ‘Sweetie’ ombre clutch, silver Jimmy Choo shoes and Sidney Garber jewels accessorized the look. Only the limp hair is throwing me off this look.

Teyonah Parris In Christian Siriano – 2014 Emmy Awards

Teyonah Parris In Christian Siriano - 2014 Emmy Awards

Teyonah Parris blew me away on the red carpet at the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles, California, and I’m sure she will do the same to you.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress has always had a love for colour and print, and this Christian Siriano lime silk overlay gown with a striped bodice from the Resort 2015 collection has it ALL.

Colour, personality, vibrancy and a fun-loving spirit that will etch this look in my memory forever.

Styled with a Carrera y Carrera ring, drop earrings, a topknot and that infectious smile, she was easily of my favourites on this red carpet.

What a breath of fresh air. I’m gonna sit back and soak this one in.

Get The Look: Natalie Dormer’s Emmy Award Defined Eyes

66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - ArrivalsCelebrity Makeup Artist Jake Bailey created Natalie Dormer’s beauty look for the 2014 Emmy Awards.

Talking about his beauty inspiration, Jake said “The focus of Natalie’s look was most definitely her eyes. She has such gorgeous blue almond-shaped eyes and I really wanted to showcase them.”

Here’s how to get the look.

When doing this much eye makeup, Jake always begins with the eyes so that any eyeshadow that falls on the face during application can be cleaned up afterwards, before applying foundation or blush.

He began by lining her top lash line with Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Perversion and blending it softly with his fingertip. Then he applied a warm shimmery brown shade, Lancome Color Design Shadow in Pose, all over her lids and into the crease. He lined her lower lash line with Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in Smog, blending it with his fingertip to soften. Then he applied a pair of mink lashes from Velour called ‘Are Those Real?’ and coated them with Urban Decay Mascara in Perversion.

Once the eyes were finished, Jake buffed a small amount of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Creamy Vanilla over her skin using a soft flat-tipped kabuki brush.

Warming her cheeks using a combo of equal parts Le Blush Crème de Chanel blush in Affinite and NARS Luminizer in Copacabana, he mixed the two on the back of his hand to create a custom glowy blush.

He then dusted her face with a touch of Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder in Ivory. Once powdered he used NARS Contour Blush in Olympia to accentuate her cheekbones by blending a small amount into the hollows of her cheeks.

Jake finished the look by lining her lips with Urban Decay 24/7 lip liner in Naked and topping it with L’Oreal Color Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Pink Perseverance.
