Menswear Roundup

Here is a roundup of some guys who have taken to the red carpet for various premieres this week.

Michael B. Jordan: Following the Oscars, the actor attended the ‘Prossima Fermata: Fruitvale Station’ premiere held at Cinema Barberini on Thursday (March 6) in Rome, Italy. Wearing a Lois Vuitton suit, he kept the look relaxed with a checked shirt with no tie.

Jason Bateman: On Wednesday (March 5) the actor attended the ‘Bad Words’ premiere wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture look featuring a black double-breasted suit, a white shirt and double-monk-strap shoes.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Mens 27 Feb

Here is a quick menswear roundup.

Adrien Brody: Joining Saoirse Ronan on the red carpet for’The Grand Budapest Hotel’ New York premiere on Wednesday (February 26), Adrien made quite a splash on the red carpet wearing a shiny Dolce & Gabbana three-piece red suit with an open white shirt and black shoes. It’s not often we see men don this colour on the red carpet, but if one man can pull off a shiny red suit, it’s Adrien Brody.

Michael B. Jordan: The actor attended the Vanity Fair and FIAT Celebration of ‘Young Hollywood’ on Tuesday (February 25) wearing a perfectly fitted Dior Homme two-button notch-lapel Prince of Wales check suit, a grey-and-blue windowpane-plaid check shirt and a navy-blue-and-burgundy pinstripe wool tie. All the elements work, blending together to create yet another BDOTW-worthy look.

Jeremy Renner: On Saturday (February 22) Jeremy attended the Costume Designer Guild Awards, where the actor wore an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture classic tuxedo while presenting an award to Amy Adams. There’s nothing quirky about this outfit, and that’s okay. Opting for a classic tux is sometimes the best way to go.

Menswear Roundup

Here is a quick roundup of some gentlemen who took to the red carpet yesterday evening (February 6).

Joel Kinnaman: The actor joined his beautiful girlfriend Olivia Munn on the red carpet for the ‘RoboCop’ Stockholm premiere. After donning black for the London premiere, he delights wearing a rich burgundy-hued Ermenegildo Zegna two-button notched-lapel suit, keeping it tonal with a darker shirt and even darker tie. The look was styled once again with his Kurt Geiger London ‘Hornton’ shoes. Of the two looks, I much prefer this one, not only for the colour, but also this look feels a lot sharper.

Edward Norton: Also wearing Ermenegildo Zegna, the actor kept it classic in a navy two-button shawl-collar suit while attending ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ Berlinale premiere alongside Tilda Swinton, Lea Seydoux and Saoirse Ronan. As great as he looks, my eyes immediately go to his wife Shauna Robertson’s dramatic ombre strapless gown. He wore double monk shoes by Ermenegildo Zegna Couture.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein Collection and Chris Pine In Ermenegildo Zegna Couture

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein Collection and Chris Pine In Ermenegildo Zegna Couture2

You know you are a fashion force to be reckoned with when on a best-dressed poll the only person you are in competition with is yourself. That is what happened this week when Lupita Nyong’o’s Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein Collection looks ended up first and second place.

The majority of you picked Lupita’s Ralph Lauren Golden Globes gown. I also loved this look, but my favourite was the Calvin Klein Collection custom gown.

The Ralph Lauren look had too much of a Gwyneth Paltrow/Zhang Ziyi déjà vu-ness about it, which lost it half a point.

However, don’t be surprised if the Ralph Lauren ends up in my BDOTY list ahead of the CK, because that cape is clearly the more memorable ‘I’ve really arrived’ look.

When it came to the fellas there was no such dilemma. It was Team Chris Pine all the way; he took looking devilishly handsome, in a classic Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit, to a whole new level.

2014 Golden Globe Awards Menswear Roundup

Golden Globes Men 1Flexing their sartorial strength, the guys glammed up for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held last night (January 12) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Here, an overview of the handsome highlights.

Matthew McConaughey: The big victor in the best actor category, the ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ star was every bit a winner on the red carpet, too. His Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo featured a surprising emerald-green velvet blazer with contrasting black peak lapels, adding a swoon-worthy twist on the standard. His touch of scruff, meanwhile, was his way of putting a casual-cool spin on this formal entrance. His wife, Camila Alves, also shone rather brightly in a glittery, black Dolce & Gabbana gown that flaunted her enviable curves.

Chris Pine: Rocking the full beard, the actor embraced the classics with an impeccably tailored Ermenegildo Zegna Couture black, peak grosgrain lapel tuxedo, white dress shirt, and black bow tie. He finished the look with Tod’s black patent loafers and a David Yurman gold pinky ring.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear 8 Nov

Here’s a quick roundup of some of the handsome fellas taking to the red carpet yesterday evening.

Tinie Tempah: The birthday boy attended the Beats by Dre event, which doubled up as his ‘Demonstration’ album launch party in London. Perhaps mindful of the fact that some of you have grown tired of the cropped pants, or perhaps because temperatures are dropping swiftly, he opted to wear regular pants on this occasion. I just love the tan wool blazer. This is yet another dapper Dolce & Gabbana look.

David Beckham: The handsome former footballer joined Kylie Minogue on the red carpet for the GQ Men of the Year Awards in Berlin, Germany looking very dapper in his black suit with a Remembrance Day red poppy proudly pinned to his lapel. “Like no other athlete, David Beckham represents style and fashion influence. With his trendsetting and sometimes daring appearances he has created a bridge between the world of design, models and photographers, and the world of world-class sports, and brought glamour back to a male sport”, said José Redondo-Vega, editor-in-chief of GQ Germany.

Gerard Butler: The Scottish actor attended the Ermenegildo Zegna global store opening hosted by Gildo Zegna and Stefano Pilati in Beverly Hills, California yesterday evening. Looking slick in a blue two-button suit, I love the contrasting black tie and blue shoes. Men so often stick to black.
