2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

An eclectic mix of stars were out in force for the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards held on Saturday (September 8) in LA.

Sarah Drew: I love the regal elegance of this SAFiYAA Fall 2017 cape gown, with the petal-pink hue and dimensional floral embroidery offering a layer of delicate femininity to the look. Her Tyler Ellis clutch was perfectly matched.

RuPaul: I don’t know anyone else who could make a double-breasted, bubblegum-pink suit look this good. His was from the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC collection.

Heidi Klum: Also donning a look in the pink family of colours, the supermodel host was lovely in a coral Elie Saab Resort 2018 embellished gown, styled with contrasting Lorraine Schwartz jewels. This was not a typical ‘Heidi’ look, and for that, I think we are all standing in applause.

2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Padma Lakshmi: Bringing va-va-voom drama to the red carpet, Padma offered a seductive-meet-sophisticated moment in this crimson Ester Abner Fall 2019 gown.

Tiffani Thiessen:
I realize that the fall season is around the corner, but this oxblood SemSem Fall 2017 velveteen gown still felt a bit heavy for early September in LA.

Mishel Prada: As pink continued to be a popular hue, this blush-nude Blumarine gown was a delicate design edge up by the black belt, red lip, and Ileana Makri jewels.

Melissa Barrera: Despite its sheer factor, I really like the direction of this flowing, draped Antonio Grimaldi Couture number — even if the caped shoulder and train seemed to flow a tad too long in their proportions.

John Legend: Classic as ever, the singer suited up in an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture tux.

Chrissy Teigen: Chrissy played it safe (by her standards) and matched her hubby in an equally classic Greta Constantine belted gown paired with a Tyler Ellis clutch.

2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Carrie Brownstein: With Fred Armisen at her side, Carrie impressed in this simple yet effective Sachin & Babi gown and Tyler Ellis clutch. I like how the netted overlay provided a subtle allure and dimensionality to the dress.

Samira Wiley: Who knew such a simple column gown could be so striking. The reverse ombre effect of this midnight-purple Monique Lhuillier design was understatedly beautiful — and Samira’s radiant smile, Anabela Chan jewels, and shiny trophy also amped up the look.
