Julianne Moore In Chanel Couture – ‘Maps To The Stars’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore In Chanel Couture - ‘Maps To The Stars’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Julianne Moore attended the ‘Maps To The Stars’ premiere on a wet night during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 19) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore a Chanel Spring 2014 lamé organza tunic festooned with white pearls, sequins and white feathers, which she wore over a matching long dress. Chopard jewels and a simple bun completed her ensemble.

It was quite a unique look, and, I have to add, she pulled it off spectacularly. I’m always impressed by her dynamic choices.

You weren’t too keen on her Louis Vuitton look from last week, so how does this feathered confection fare?

Feathers, pockets, buttons on separates? No.

There are only four women I can list who can wear this look. Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly, Tilda Swinton, and Julianne Moore.

  3. Stel May 20, 2014 at 12:03 #

She’s a little old to wear a dress like that..

Julianne Moore can look really stunning, but this outfit doesn’t do anything for her. She lookls like a plucked chicken!

    she looks so haute!
Very young and complementing with a interesting edge.
I like it on her but this reminds me of poppy’s chanel custom wedding dress

  6. Valissa May 20, 2014 at 03:07 #

I respect her desire to take risks but sadly she doesn’t pull it off.
I haven’t liked anything she’s worn at Cannes so far…

    She looks like a Yeti.

This concoction does nothing for her. It gives her no shape.. she looks much larger than she is… it looks itchy… S

She rarely hits a home run… this one never even gets to first base. Pardon baseball analogy for non-Americans.

      Totally agree. Foul ball!

    This ensemble is drag-tastic.

I don’t really like it? But I think she pulls it off better than the model. I think this is as good as this dress is capable of ever looking.

And I do think the wind/rain added some drama to it with all the motion the feathers had.

I was one of the few who liked her LV – it was edgy, unexpected, dynamic. This is another tricky look, and I think she carried off both extremely well.

She is unique. I don’t love this look, but I love it on her. Amazing.

      +1

      Totally agree.

I would never have picked this for her, but she wore it so well. Love her

  14. Marcel May 20, 2014 at 00:24 #

This look wasn’t among my favourites in that collection. I would prefer it with no feathers from waist up.
I adore Juliane but sadly I am not in love with this outing.

  15. Christine May 20, 2014 at 00:24 #

WAY too much going on. Looks like a furry

  16. Gemma Rockets May 19, 2014 at 23:36 #

I’m not a Chanel girl and I can’t say I like this. It’s a bit too much like a back to front hairy cardigan for me.
Julianne herself, of course looks beautiful.

    • EmmaWoodhouse May 21, 2014 at 04:17 #

+1 all the way. The dress is, unsurprisingly, a mess (I expect nothing more from Chanel). Julianne, however, is radiant.

Love, Love, Love. I don’t know if it’s just because I am a big fan of this collection but I think she looks exquisite.

  18. Fer May 19, 2014 at 23:28 #

    I am in love.

An unique dress for an unique beauty. Adore this look, it’s in my bdoty list.

  19. Kb May 19, 2014 at 23:27 #

Again horrible choice she never did it right with chanel I really hate this look I prefer LV dress. Million time

  20. Joy May 19, 2014 at 23:18 #

She definitely takes the cake for the most different. I don’t hate it, and she can pull this off better than most. But, I wouldn’t say this was a favorite look. It’s just a bit too weird for me.

I can’t believe how much I like this look. I think she carries this gown well. I love the detailing in the back. Pretty look.

  22. Yeliz May 19, 2014 at 22:56 #

Neck up she looks beautiful but the gown has too much going on, I don’t like it.

  23. Gretta May 19, 2014 at 22:45 #

I LOVE this. She looks like she belongs in a Chanel perfume ad at the top of the stairs. So different and unique. Outstanding.

  24. CreoleLady May 19, 2014 at 22:44 #

I can’t believe how much I like this. *checks forehead for signs of fever*

  25. H May 19, 2014 at 22:44 #

Julianne nails it everytime to me and now I love it, this is quite unique and interesting!

  26. sophie May 19, 2014 at 22:41 #

It is interesting, girly and she pulls it off, but she can do better. I still want her to start a custom Atelier Versace relationship like Uma Thurman has. This gown doesn’t do anything for her.
