Emma Stone In Valentino – ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise Of Electro’ Rome Premiere

Emma Stone In Valentino - 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rise Of Electro' Rome Premiere

Emma Stone attended ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise Of Electro’ Rome premiere on Monday (April 14) in Italy.

The actress selected another look from the Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

She wore a beaded blouse with an oversized pussy-bow neck tie, which adds a demure element to the sheerness of the fabric, paired with a geometric-print lurex maxi skirt and Jennifer Meyer jewelry.

I happen to love this grownup elegance, which she has been serving up consistently during this promo tour; however, I have a feeling this might not go down so well with the majority.

Love, loathe, or on the fence?

Shocked at the matronly comments. This doesn’t look matronly at all. I love the approach to this look. This still feels young to me.

    she wears it well

  4. kane April 15, 2014 at 10:09 #

Love hair and make up, but can’t get on board with the dress.

  5. Lina April 15, 2014 at 10:04 #

    I love this!!

  6. Caro Chanel April 15, 2014 at 07:36 #

I love this. This is a very difficult look to pull off but it works very well for Emma. There aren’t a lot of starlets who could have worn this. The dress is elegant yet cool and the colors do match her hair perfectly.

  7. Faellie April 15, 2014 at 07:36 #

I like “sophisticated” as a description of this.

I’m beginning to think that we may be seeing a big shift in fashion away from the short, tight and revealing. A relatively a short time ago I would have been seeing this as a 70s throwback, but it is now looking a lot more modern to my eyes.

  8. sharizal_samah April 15, 2014 at 06:25 #

i like the way she tried something else…at least it is not one note

  9. Dhppy April 15, 2014 at 06:23 #

Hate the pattern of the skirt. There’s no convincing me otherwise.

  10. cherrysoftness April 15, 2014 at 06:07 #

I adore this, I can’t imagine it without the bow – it draws attention to her face and is what sells the look to me.

  11. TL April 15, 2014 at 05:29 #

I like it, it suits her. But I would love it sans the bow

  12. pinksugar April 15, 2014 at 02:14 #

    Granny Emma strikes again.

    • lin April 15, 2014 at 07:02 #

I was just going to say it’s too old for her, but Granny Emma is much better!

  13. CD April 15, 2014 at 02:05 #

Loath — she looks like she’s growing out of the carpet

  14. anjos April 15, 2014 at 00:39 #

This is actually my fav look from her promo tour so far.

  15. T April 14, 2014 at 22:58 #

Effing hideous that’s what this is. Emma has become way too skinny as well.

  16. jimmy April 14, 2014 at 22:40 #

I did not really care for the past couple of Valentino Collections when I first saw them, but as I see more on the red carpet I am really loving the romantic vibe. I understand why some may think it is matronly at first glance but these are clothes that require a little more thought. They are very sophisticated in both style and color palette. She looks lovely and it is a refreshing change.

  17. Rebecca Z April 14, 2014 at 22:40 #

I AM on the fence. Would have preferred the blouse without the bow. Not loving the skirt. Still, she looks beautiful and carries it off somehow. Like CreoleLady, I am not loving these somber colors after this very long winter. I want the spring looks!

    • Marybeth April 14, 2014 at 23:02 #

      Agree on all points.
I am on the fence too — and you have nicely said everything I’m thinking!

  18. mm April 14, 2014 at 22:33 #

She looks very tall in this look. Not loving the print.

  19. Sus April 14, 2014 at 22:28 #

    GOOO EMMA!!!!!!!!!

  20. Chris April 14, 2014 at 22:23 #

I love that she always keeps evolving with her Fashion style, its one different dress from the other. AMAZING!! Love it.

I don’t love the bow, but I still like this look very much. I love the sophistication she’s oozing in this gown. It is a VERY rare occasion I don’t absolutely love a Valentino gown, and this is not one of those occasions as I love this look. I might get punched for this, but since I didn’t love the yellow Versace, I’m feeling this elegant number much more. Sorry, just speaking my truth!

    • Ann April 14, 2014 at 22:26 #

Agreed, the word is sophistication for this gown. It is daring, I love Emma she never gets boring with the same style over & over again, she tries to change things up. I love that, it keeps me on my toes when it comes to her fashion choices.

  22. Prudence April 14, 2014 at 22:16 #

she has yet to impress. this is very messy.

    • Lashae April 15, 2014 at 01:22 #

  23. CreoleLady April 14, 2014 at 22:09 #

Bow-tie, loose fit at the waist, random patchwork nature of the dress; hmmmm. A pre-fall look that is too dark after a long winter for me, even with the warm glow of her hair.

  24. Jai April 14, 2014 at 21:59 #

I actually love this, and generally I haven’t enjoyed the Valentino gowns. A big win from me.

  25. Mindi April 14, 2014 at 21:56 #

The pattern on the skirt sort of reminds me of the carpet you’d find in a hotel room, but taking a step and looking at the outfit as a whole–I really like the fit and colors, especially with her make-up.

    I love it

    • Fiona-Brasil April 14, 2014 at 21:57 #

  27. Anne Gallagher April 14, 2014 at 21:44 #

It is a bit matronly on her.

  28. Britta April 14, 2014 at 21:42 #

It’s not as stunning as the yellow – but it’s beautiful nonetheless and very well chosen for a premiere in Rome!

    • Courtney Klein April 14, 2014 at 21:59 #

Agreed. The yellow is still the best thus far.

  29. Serena April 14, 2014 at 21:38 #

I don’t like the dress one bit, but she wears is well, imo.

  30. Courtney Klein April 14, 2014 at 21:35 #

I love the bow, love the dress and I love Emma Stone! This is a fashion risk and I love it.

  31. ek April 14, 2014 at 21:34 #

I have to say this is my favorite look of the press tour so far.

  32. naya April 14, 2014 at 21:31 #

i would keep the skirt, cause it is stunning, but i’d definitely change the blouse and the necktie

  33. Christine April 14, 2014 at 21:24 #

The bow is ruing this look. So unnecessary.

  34. Yeliz April 14, 2014 at 21:22 #

Not liking the bow neck tie, but I can give it a pass, because I think Emma pulls this off. She looks gorgeous.

  35. Tamia April 14, 2014 at 21:19 #

LOVE! This is a bold, daring and beautiful look worth praising not Gemma A’s bland & nondescript Prada gown.

  36. Gemma April 14, 2014 at 21:14 #

I adore this, BDOTW contestant for me.

  37. Cuteboy April 14, 2014 at 21:14 #

I do kinda love this, but I feel like the blouse could go down a size – I know the intention is to be loose fitted, but this may be a little too loose.

  38. dee April 14, 2014 at 21:08 #

I would have preferred this without the neckbow. It kinda looks matronly.

    • MissCru April 14, 2014 at 21:14 #

ITA. The neckbow ruins the look.

    • dee April 15, 2014 at 03:05 #

I also think the bow is overwhelming on her. It takes away from the blouse and skirt.

      • AnnaLee April 15, 2014 at 09:25 #

Indeed, I would’ve adored this without the bow… It’s way too much for the already busy gown. There’s just too moch going on!
