Menswear Weekend Roundup

Menswear Weekend RoundupWith the MTV Movie Awards 2014 in Los Angeles, California and the Laurence Olivier Awards in London, England on this past weekend’s roster, the guys hit the red carpet with fashion guns blazing on both sides of the pond.

Jared Leto: Snagging a golden popcorn at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (April 13) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live for ‘Best On-Screen Transformation’ in ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ the actor was rock-star rad in a Lanvin black silk knot-embroidered, peak-lapel tuxedo jacket, teamed with aviator shades. Funky, MTV-worthy appeal came in the form of that black-and-white Hawaiian shirt, skinny dark pants and sneakers.

Tom Hiddleston: Looking ever so dapper, the British actor was dressed impeccably at the Laurence Olivier Awards on Sunday (April 13). He paired his sharply tailored, black Alexander McQueen single-breasted, one-button ‘McQueen shoulder’ tuxedo with a white evening shirt with black buttons, black polished stone skull cufflinks and black patent evening shoes.

Orlando Bloom: The winner of the MTV Movie Awards ‘Best Fight’ nod for his role in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,’ he took to the stage in a monochromatic, head-to-toe Lanvin ensemble. Despite the clashing navy-blue colours, he may be one of the few who could nonchalantly pull off the long fitted coat, worn over an over-dyed button-up cotton shirt, an under T-shirt and cotton pants. Still retaining his cool factor, he accessorized with a few strands of statement pendant necklaces and black hi-top sneakers.

Menswear Weekend Roundup2Zac Efron: When he wasn’t wearing his six-pack at the MTV Movie Awards, the ‘Best Shirtless’ prizewinner was hunky-casual in a denim, button-up shirt, dark jeans and dress loafers.

James McAvoy: Although the Scottish actor’s traditional suit was in line with the navy-blue trend, it perhaps could have used a better dose of tailoring for his appearance at the Laurence Olivier Awards.

Menswear Weekend Roundup3Adrian Grenier: Stepping outside the standard colour box, the actor wore a burgundy two-button, peak-lapel suit, black shirt, black tonal tie and shoes, all by Z Zegna, at the MTV Movie Awards.

Sam Claflin
: With a nod to laid-back sartorial style, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ actor accepted the award for ‘Movie of the Year’ with Josh Hutcherson at the MTV Movie Awards. Dressing down, he wore a selection of relaxed separates, including a blue blazer, white T-shirt and dark, rolled denim jeans, accessorized with a scarf and moccasin-style loafers. Sloppy or still cool?
