Julianne Hough attended the 2012 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening.
The blonde actress opted for sparkles, sparkles and more sparkles, wearing a strapless seafoam Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture gown.
With the amount of sequins and paillette embellishments, I envision this frock on the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ dance floor.
That comb-over faux-bob is just a bit too much for this look, as is the makeup.
Soft Veronica Lake waves would have added a bit more polish to the look.
A gold Judith Leiber clutch provided the finishing touches.

Mesmerizing like a mermaid.
I agree about the hair and makeup FC! Much too ott!
I really like these looks but what kind of red carpet is without at least one Elie Saab and Atelier Versace?
One with more TV actresses than movie stars
You’re so right FC.
I found out that Lucy Liu wore Versace (not Atelier but better than nothing). I missed Elie Saab and Valentino.
Exactly !
I think Lucy Liu wore Versace.
Julianne looks stunning! Like a mermaid, as Kimmy said.
The gown fits her perfectly, but there is too much sparkle for my liking. And I agree about the make-up and hair.
I like the dress, and she is werking it but she needs to chill out with that self tanner, really ruins the whole look
i couldn’t agree more…this dress needed a paler complexion.
I think she looks great! There was a lot of sparkle on the RC last night
Julianne Hough and Sofia Vergara really were the stars of the Emmy Awards 2012, they had the best outfits, and what’s most interesting that they both wore Lebanese designers: Georges Hobeika and Zuhari Mrad respectively… Lebanese designers are Masters in showing and emphasizing the femininity of a Woman
Funny, they both looked like they belonged on “Dancing with the stars” to me
both overdid it
All the best couturiers are Lebanese : Elie Saab, Abed Mahfouz, Georges Chakra, Basil Soda, Reem Acra, Tony Ward, Rabih Kayrouz. They all have a comparable aesthetic, too.
You’re so right. Best things to come out of that country are the designers and food. Oh, and their women are hot too
I don’t hate it,but i cannot say that i like it either.
+1 not feeling the eyelids over the boobs.
Why does this young beautiful woman insist on wearing such aging looks?
What looks pretty on the runway looks a bit cheesy on the carpet. Too tanned, too much make up, too detailed a hairstyle.
+1.
+2!
I think that she looks gorgeous, the dress is perfection on her, but with the hair and amount of amkeupit makes it all a bit too much and a bit too old.
I don’t care for the hair and makeup…. but I am in LUH-UH-UUUUUH-VVVVVE!!!!!!!!!! with this dress…. seeing a paillette dress in person I bet it shined on the red carpet…. but I don’t think she has the attitude for it…. Sophia Vergara would’ve rocked the hell out of this…
It’s a beautiful dress but everything else is just not working.
Meh…the gown is too shiny/glitzy and I hate that bodice. With the styling is SOOO costumey.
This looks like Miss America meets Prom Queen meets couture. And the result is that everything looks really cheap.
Agree. I attribute it to the ballroom dancing makeup/tan/glitz/OTT syndrome that she occasionally falls back into, to her detriment, on the RC.
I think she’s too tanned to pull off the color of the dress, the result is that she looks a bit tacky.
Love the dress but the makeup and hair is awful.
The dress is amazing but combined with her tan, hairdo and the heavy makeup it results in a showgirl outfit.Too bad!
The gown is gorgeous but I just despise that hair! She should have listened to Ryan Seacrest.
This dress is gorgeous, but the styling really lets her down.
I really want to like this look, but for me she looks literally like a fish out of water. I think it is the color of the gown together with her hair and makeup choice. Too bad because I think it could have gone better for her.
very ugly dress- and too orange tan.. the hair looks weird- she is the worst dressed of the emmy awards imo
She killed it, and better than the runway. Did Couture proud!!
This was the 1st time I’ve liked what Julianne Hough was wearing on the red carpet. I think she looks age appropriate and stunning. On camera Julianne appeared a lot less ‘orange’ than in photos.
She made the dress look cheap, I’d never thought it was Haute Couture. maybe it’s the tanned skin?
I will agree with majority: absolutely LOVE the dress!!! (btw, seriously cannot understand how it can possibly look cheap to someone)…
but! the hair! the makeup!!! Horror
+1
Worst of the night tied with Ashley Judd. This screams Vegas showgirl. Cheap tacky Dancing With The Stars costume. Haven’t seen Georges Hobieka in forever, this is the worst comeback.
When I was watching her interview on E! I didn’t care about the look, it didn’t translate well on TV. But when I saw the pictures I was surprised it was the same dress because I really loved it.
I still don’t like the hair, though.
Love the dress but hair and make up is not good very prom like
julianne hough looks absolutely AMAZING. this dress is a work of art and almost exactly matches her eyes. this for me is a bdoty look. i hope fashion critic thinks highly of this look!
my favourite dress of the evening. shame about the make-up
I think she is too tanned but other than that I think she looks good.
