Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Backless Gucci Gown Turns Heads at LACMA Gala
The 2026 LACMA Art + Film Gala, which honoured artist Vija Celmins and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, was held on Saturday evening in Los Angeles.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the queen of neutrals, took a different route for this event, wearing a black Gucci gown by Demna.
From the front, it was all about sophistication, with the sculptural high collar and Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock earrings providing an elegant first impression.
But then she turned around, and suddenly the mood changed completely.

As you know, I love a backless moment, but this was a particularly cheeky one. The plunging open back extended into a daring cut-out that revealed considerably more than we usually see from Rosie.
Too much? I’m sure many of you will say yes, but this is Demna’s Gucci. The designer has never been afraid to challenge conventional ideas of sex appeal, and this gown takes that approach quite literally, combining a deceptively conservative front with scandalous back.
I know many of you are going to hate this, and yes, it is incredibly risqué, but I think Rosie looks sensational. She has the confidence and attitude to carry off a design that could easily look ridiculous on someone else.

And yes, if this were Kim Kardashian, I would probably have a different opinion. I’m not even going to try to defend that hypocrisy, but Rosie sells this to me.
In fact, once I got over the shock of the back, I found myself admiring how the emeralds in her earrings complemented the sparkling green lining of the gown.
