Hailee Steinfeld Is the Latest to Wear Stella McCartney’s Faux-Fur Peplum
Estée Lauder celebrated the launch of Glimmer, its new prestige fragrance, with actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, the face of the campaign, in attendance.
I know what you’re thinking.
How has Stella McCartney managed to dress four celebrities in variations of this faux-fur peplum design?
We’ve seen it in white on Zendaya and Ellie Goulding, navy on Sabrina Elba, and now black on Hailee.
My immediate reaction is that this look feels a little too mature for Hailee. That doesn’t mean I dislike it, because the silhouette is flattering, and I love the contrast between the black fabric and the chocolate-brown faux-fur trim.
However, between the high neckline, pencil skirt, black tights and pointed pumps, the styling feels more conservative than I would usually associate with her.
That said, Hailee looks beautiful, and her side-swept waves give the ensemble a touch of glamour.
Of the four interpretations we’ve seen so far, I still prefer Sabrina’s navy version, but I’m hoping this is the last outing for this design.
