I have to say, this has been one of the best-dressed London Film Festivals I can remember in a long time. Sometimes these festivals start strong over the first two nights, only for the fashion to lose momentum by the weekend. There have been years when I’ve barely noticed the festival was still running until the closing night premiere.

But this year was different. From Scarlett Johansson in Prada and Carey Mulligan in Celine to Sandra Hüller in Matières Fécales, there have been so many looks worth talking about.

Julianne brought two of her signatures to the red carpet: a black dress and Bottega Veneta.

What I appreciate about this look is the leather waistband, which almost resembles a cummerbund. Along with the small decorative accent, it adds an unexpected detail to an otherwise simple black halterneck dress.

Julianne was never going to give us an elaborate gown, and there’s no denying that this look suits her beautifully.
