Florence Pugh Continues Her Corset Era in Wiederhoeft

Florence Pugh appears to have closed the chapter on her East of Eden press tour, stepping onto the red carpet at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival on Friday for the premiere of In the Shadows.

However, the historical influences we saw in her Vivienne Westwood look at the East of Eden New York premiere were still very much present in this Wiederhoeft Spring 2027 corseted ensemble.

Kerry Washington recently wore a look from the same label, but the skirt let the entire outfit down. Florence’s shimmering column skirt is a much more successful interpretation, and I’m still enjoying this silhouette on Flo, particularly after her Vivienne Westwood and Patrick McDowell outings.

The lilac corset, with its intricate embellishments and sculpted waist, is beautiful. However, I’m at a bit of a crossroads with the necklace.

Florence is a Bvlgari ambassador, so I completely understand why the original strapless design was modified to accommodate the Bvlgari Diamond necklace.

My issue isn’t with the necklace itself, but the hairstyling. I would have preferred an updo here, as her hair falling around her shoulders visually shortens her neck and crowds the space between the halterneck straps and the necklace.

On her previous two outings, wearing her hair up allowed the jewellery and the neckline to shine. I wish she’d continued that approach here, because this look deserved that same consideration.
