Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange Wear Valentino for ‘American Horror Story: 13’

Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange attended FX’s American Horror Story: 13 Celebration Event, with both actresses turning to Valentino by Alessandro Michele for the occasion. While both wore black, their looks represented very different sides of the house.

Tulle, Velvet And Plenty Of Drama

Sarah Paulson wore a Valentino look from the Haute Couture ‘Vertigineux’ collection, and this feels completely at home on her.

There is a lot happening around the neckline and shoulders with the layers of black tulle, but what is a Sarah Paulson look without plenty of drama? Yes, the fishnet panel across the décolletage is giving us a flash of areola, but with this much tulle and drama happening elsewhere, it almost feels like a footnote.

The slicked-back hair was absolutely the right choice, as were those stunning drop earrings. And on a personal note, I am so ready for velvet season. One look at that skirt and I’m already there.

Classic With A Colourful Twist

Jessica Lange opted for Valentino from the Spring 2026 ‘Fireflies’ collection, which is so understated that it is hard to believe this was designed by the king of maximalism, Alessandro Michele.

But perhaps that is why I like it so much. The silhouette is supremely elegant, with the pleated cuffs providing just enough detail before the Valentino Garavani DeVain bag changes the mood completely. The colourful floral embroidery was a fun addition to an otherwise all-black look, and it really does make a huge difference here.
